He explained that getting things approved is a lengthy and complicated process, noting that “57 people need to approve every word, and it feels like things are already getting delayed.” He’s familiar with how things work. Since the season 15 finale of Doctor Who, where Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor transformed into Billie Piper’s character, fans have been full of questions about who the 16th Doctor will be.
Since Piper returned to the show, the sci-fi drama has been intentionally unclear about her role. The end credits of the finale didn’t identify her character, leading fans to speculate that the actress, known for playing Rose Tyler, might be portraying someone completely different.
The partnership between the BBC and Disney+ for the time travel series has ended, even though the show is still ongoing. Despite a Doctor Who Christmas special being planned, no information about a new season arriving in 2026 has been released for several months.
