Sean “Diddy” Combs still has months to go before learning his fate.
Approximately a week has passed since a New York court convicted the rapper for facilitating prostitution, but cleared him of sex trafficking and racketeering accusations. The presiding judge in Combs’ trial, however, decided to keep October 3 as his sentencing date.
On July 8, Judge Arun Subramanian granted both the defense and the prosecution’s petition to postpone the sentencing date. Initially, Combs’ legal team suggested an earlier sentencing date in September; however, they subsequently withdrew this proposal.
TopMob News contacted Diddy’s legal representatives regarding their response to the dismissed request, but have yet to receive a reply.
The founder of Bad Boy Records could potentially spend up to 20 years behind bars after being found guilty on two charges related to prostitution, according to NBC News. However, his legal team is pushing for a sentence ranging from 21 to 27 months (approximately two years), while prosecutors are requesting a term of 51 to 63 months (around four to five years).
According to reports, the individual known as Combs, who’s been detained by federal authorities since his September arrest, will receive credit for time already served. However, Judge Subramanian has refused his plea for release on bond before sentencing, meaning he will stay in custody.
Despite the months-long trial, his legal team assured him that he could rest easily at night, having been found not guilty of the more severe charges against him.
Outside the courtroom on July 2nd, his attorney Anna Estevao expressed that this was a significant victory. The jury found him not guilty of charges related to sex trafficking and also cleared him of any involvement in the RICO conspiracy.
According to defense attorney Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ fellow prisoners thought it was a major victory when he returned to prison and they gave him a standing ovation.
In an interview with The Associated Press on July 6th, Agnifi stated that everyone had expressed doubt about anyone defeating the government. However, they needed proof that it’s possible. His interpretation was that he should strive to demonstrate this victory.
For all the revelations that came out from Combs’ trial, keep reading.
As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting on recent court rulings involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and two of his former associates, Cassie Ventura and Jane (names changed for privacy). While Diddy was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, he was found guilty of transporting them with the intention to engage in prostitution. In light of these decisions, I’m keenly interested in understanding how this verdict may impact each individual moving forward.
The criminal proceedings initiated when our client, Cassie Ventura, bravely submitted her civil lawsuit in November 2023, as stated by Douglas Wigdor to TopMob News in a July 2 statement. Although the jury didn’t convict Combs of sex trafficking Cassie, they found him guilty of transporting someone for prostitution. Cassie’s bravery in sharing her story has made a lasting impact on both the entertainment industry and the pursuit of justice.
In reference to the accusations for which Combs entered a plea of not guilty, Wigdor stated, “Once again, without any hesitation, we stand by and support our client, whose bravery was evident throughout this entire trial.
Additionally, Wigdor commended Ventura for her dedication, as she was among the 34 witnesses testifying throughout the 29-day trial of Combs.
In my commitment to truth and justice, I showcased indisputable resilience, shedding light on the dominating presence and hidden misconduct of influential men surrounding us, a problem that has gone unpunished for far too long. This situation underscores the urgent need for change, and I pledge to persist in advocating for survivors.
After learning that he was found not guilty on three out of five counts in his federal trial, as reported by NBC News journalists present, Combs, who faced potential life imprisonment if found guilty on all charges, dropped to his knees and bowed his head over a chair, adopting a posture reminiscent of prayer.
According to the news report, Combs’ relatives were present in the courtroom, applauding and celebrating the outcome for the music entrepreneur. His defense lawyers embraced one another, while Combs himself hugged his attorney Brian Steel.
On the 2nd of July, a jury of twelve members announced their decisions regarding the five federal charges against Combs in his sex trafficking trial. After three days of deliberation, they found him guilty on two counts: transporting individuals for prostitution, which involved his former girlfriends Ventura and another woman known as “Jane.
As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share the news that, despite the accusations against him (all of which he denied), my beloved idol was acquitted! The jury declared him not guilty on one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking. It’s a relief to see justice served in this way.
On the eve of delivering their verdicts, the jury informed U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian that they couldn’t agree on the racketeering charge because of deeply entrenched opposing opinions. Judge Subramanian then urged the jurors to persist with their deliberations. Eventually, a verdict was handed down following another day of discussions.
Assistant Prosecutor Christy Slavik took approximately five hours to summarize her case to the jury. In this summary, she contended that Sean “Diddy” Combs leveraged his influence, threats, and intimidation to fulfill his desires.
1) “His domain was where he held power. All were there to fulfill his needs.”
2) “He reigned over his territory, with everyone serving him.”
3) “In his realm, all served his interests.”
4) “His kingdom was his domain, and the purpose of everyone within it was to cater to his desires.”
5) “In his dominion, everyone existed to serve his will.”
6) “His rule extended over all, with each individual there to fulfill his demands.”
7) “He held sway over his domain, with all present to attend to his needs.
Slavik highlighted two instances: the 2016 physical attack he alleges Combs directed at his girlfriend, Cassie Ventura at that time, and the 2024 assault accusations against him involving a woman known as “Jane” in the court proceedings.
She mentioned that while these two occurrences happened eight years apart, they aren’t independent events. Instead, they are consecutive parts of the same narrative – the tale of Sean Combs and the organized crime network he oversaw, which primarily consisted of his close associates.
Over and over, this criminal operation catered to the defendant’s every whim by employing a systematic strategy of threats, force, and deceit,” she explained. “The defendant relied on secrecy and embarrassment to conceal his misdeeds, believing that his status, wealth, and influence shielded him from legal repercussions.
Slavik contended that during this trial, Combs was assisted by an extensive team of personal staff, whose goal was to cater to his every need, amplify his influence, and safeguard his image at any price.
In my professional capacity as a lifestyle expert, I recently found myself in a position where I had to share some intriguing insights. In this case, I submitted a filing directly to Judge Arun Subramanian, outlining our team’s intention to make certain adjustments to our lines of argument regarding attempted arson and kidnapping charges.
Despite Combs continuing to grapple with charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking (which involve accusations of kidnapping and arson), prosecutors stated in their letter dated June 24 that they have “eliminated directives from the charge concerning attempted kidnapping under both California and New York laws, attempted arson under California law, and aiding and abetting sex trafficking.
The government expressed hope that making the language simpler would not only help in organizing the guidelines more efficiently, but also minimize any potential misunderstandings.
Combs told JudgeSubramanian that he will not take the stand during his sex trafficking trial.
The judge underscored that neither the rap tycoon nor the jury could deduce or infer his guilt simply because he chose not to take the stand.
Combs clarified that the choice not to testify was entirely his own, as he had discussed it with his team.
After thinking it through, I have made up my mind about it. That’s what I decided.
Teny Garagos, the defense attorney representing Combs, informed the judge that both their team and the prosecution anticipate spending “a minimum of four hours” for each side’s closing statements.
After Special Agent Joseph Cerciello from Homeland Security Investigations concluded his multiple-day testimony on June 24 as a prosecution witness, the defense will commence their case presentation. In contrast to calling additional witnesses, Combs’ legal team intends to concentrate on the already presented evidence.
On June 23, during Ceriello’s testimony, the jury was presented with graphic videos, allegedly originating from Combs’ “freak out” incidents, which were subsequently admitted as evidence in court.
The special agent pointed out that there were 50 clearly defined videos from both 2021 and 2022. During the trial, jurors were provided with two files each, which they viewed through headphones and screens.
In the voicemails to his ex-chief of staff Kristina Khorram, dated June 23rd, Combs outlined a particular set of demands while he was at a hotel in November 2021. These requests included replenishing baby oil – an item he frequently needed for his “freak offs.
He requested Khorram to give him a call prior to their arrival, and he exclaimed his disbelief as he found himself out of stock. He filled up the container with twenty bottles.
Instead of Khorram requesting an extra day at the hotel, her response was, “Sure thing. The baby oil can be found just outside the door.
Through a group text conversation, it appears that his ex-employee had mentioned she was setting up an IV drip for both him and Jane, which he later utilized in at least one instance of “recovery” following a particularly intense event, as suggested by the group chat logs.
She also made sure that there were Plan-B pills, an emergency contraceptive, in his nightstand.
The jurors were presented with a sequence of text messages exchanged between Combs and Ventura. In these messages, the “Long Way 2 Go” singer openly discussed the impact that the alleged mistreatment was having on her.
In response to Combs asking if we should pause our relationship in March 2017, I expressed that I didn’t want a break but rather wished to avoid being mistreated for standing up for myself. I yearned for a partnership where I felt valued and respected instead.
In another instance, she further accused her ex of physically assaulting her.
Ventura wrote to him in May, ‘I offer you love, but as soon as I momentarily look away, you cause trouble and pull me down the hallway by my hair. At 30 years old, I’m no longer playing around. Last night, I felt like I was already deceased, yet it didn’t feel like it was happening to me because witnessing your radiance was so captivating.’
Brendan Paul, who worked as Combs’ assistant from 2022 to 2024, testified that he bought illegal substances like marijuana, 2C, cocaine, ketamine, and ecstasy for his boss on several different occasions.
Paul explained that we’d get in touch with the drug dealer via text messages, and then he would visit one of our homes. He met these people mostly through text conversations or phone calls.
However, Paul vehemently denied being a “drug mule” for the rap mogul.
On June 18, Judge Subramanian suspended the court proceedings temporarily because one of the primary jurors was absent due to sickness. Notably, there was no court session held on June 19, as it was observed as Juneteenth.
The judge mentioned that one of our jurors is unwell and experienced dizziness, causing them to return home. Their partner informed us about this situation. As a result, the ill juror is absent, and since they are part of the regular jury, it seems we cannot proceed with the trial today.
The judge observed that it wasn’t certain if the juror’s bout of vertigo, characterized by dizziness, nausea, headaches, and additional symptoms, was short-lived or a persistent problem. However, they planned to keep an eye on the situation.
Since the court is closed on June 19th for Juneteenth, Judge Subramanian announced that the trial will pick up again on June 20th, operating from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a shorter session.
Immediately following Judge Subramanian’s decision to remove Juror No. 6 due to discrepancies in their home address, another juror may face removal for an alleged inappropriate discussion about the case with a previous coworker. The suspect has been interrogated by the judge and asked to surrender his phone for examination, as reported by NBC News.
By the close of that June 16 court session, a verdict about my beloved member’s termination was still hanging in the balance.
On June 13, Kanye West, renowned for his hit “Stronger,” was spotted outside the New York City courthouse, showing solidarity with Combs. He spent approximately 30 minutes within the premises but didn’t step into the courtroom itself. The main room is exclusively reserved for Combs’ family, legal team, media, and spectators who patiently queue for hours to secure a seat.
Jane remembered a disagreement that transpired following her vacation in Las Vegas, where she accompanied another rap artist and his spouse.
During the trip, she stated that events subsequently resulted in observing a private sexual encounter between Anton, a prostitute they frequently engaged, and another individual in a hotel room, which was witnessed by a crowd.
Jane informed Geragos, the lawyer for the rap mogul, that he became upset following his accusation that she had gone to another man’s “lewd party.
On the 21st day of Combs’ trial, Maurene Comey, an assistant U.S. attorney, mentioned that they are considering dismissing one of the twelve jurors.
She shared with Judge Subramanian before the jury’s entrance into the New York City courtroom, “We found it extremely difficult to include this in our letter. It seemed to suggest less than full honesty towards the court, which poses significant concerns for us.
Defense lawyer Alexandra Shapiro, who mentioned that Juror No. 6 is part of the jury’s Black representatives, requested a day or two to “compose a written response” and “review relevant legal precedents.
In response, Judge Subramanian stated that he would “defer deciding on the juror’s details” until a final decision is reached.
On the 10th of June, I found myself engaged in a heated discussion with Garagos, who implied that a certain witness was involved in exchanging sexual favors for high-end items. I found this allegation troubling and felt compelled to address it.
Lawyer Geragos reviewed messages exchanged between Jane and Combs in November 2021, where it appeared the witness expressed displeasure over Combs engaging with other women. According to these texts, she inquired if Combs had given the other woman a Chanel bag as a post-encounter gift.
Jane said that she didn’t get a Chanel purse from Combs, telling Garagos that she “got trauma.”
When the attorney asked what a Bottega bag was, she replied, “I’m sure you have one.”
And when Geragos asked how much the item costs, Jane asked, “How much does my body cost?”
Jane was granted a 10-minute break following the exchange.
Jane stated that by the year 2022, she thought Combs fit the description of someone who derives satisfaction from observing their partner engage in physical intimacy with another individual, following her investigation into their sexual relationship dynamics.
She explained that her study helped clarify things, and she aimed to delve deeply into the various factors contributing to their enjoyment of seeing their partner with other men.
As a diligent observer, I speculate that Combs’ repeated requests for “hotel nights” bear striking similarities to Ventura’s “freak offs.” This leads me to wonder if Combs might be questioning his own sexual orientation.
In her testimony, she suggested that individuals often referred to as “cucks” might harbor genuine curiosity that they are embarrassed to explore personally. Consequently, they may utilize a female partner to satisfy this curiosity indirectly, without engaging in the activity themselves.
Jane stated that she referred to Paul, an escort they frequently hired along with Combs, as “Trifecta.” This was due to her likening their intimate relationship to the exceptional performance of basketball stars on the court.
“I was Kobe Bryant and Paul was Shaq [O’Neil],” she told jurors. “Combs was Michael Jordan.”
In my professional opinion, I found Paul to be incredibly amiable. If ever the situation required it, I’d much rather engage intimately with someone like him – someone who exudes a comforting and positive aura.
Jane stated that the relationship between Combs and Khorram was a source of disagreement or conflict during her romantic involvement with the hip-hop entrepreneur.
Jane mentioned that Khorram was often by her side. She found it challenging in their relationship because it seemed like she held intense emotions towards her, which significantly impacted how Sean behaved towards her.
On June 10, Judge Subramanian rejected a request for a mistrial from Diddy’s legal team. They had claimed that Ventura and her friend Bryana Bongolan were not truthful about the incident where they alleged that the rap tycoon had dangled Bongolan over a 17th-floor balcony.
In the latest court filing, his legal team alleged that the prosecution had engaged in “unprofessional behavior” by presenting false testimony.
The letter states that during this trial, the government has given false testimony related to their claim that Mr. Combs hung Bryana Bongolan over the balcony of Cassie Ventura’s apartment in September 2016. To prevent an unfair verdict based on this potential misinformation, the court should declare a mistrial.
Jane alleged that the rap mogul had beaten her for hours June 2024.
Jane stated that an argument ensued between herself and Combs, stemming from his association with a young woman who was significantly younger than him. This, according to Jane, culminated in her labeling him as a “predator” and forcefully pressing his head against a marble kitchen counter.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d rephrase it as follows: In the heat of the moment, I sought refuge in the main bedroom, only for Diddy (Bad Boy Records founder) to start forcefully pushing against the door. Photos showing the damaged door were presented as evidence. I claimed that during my attempt to flee, he struck me on the back of my thigh, causing me to stumble and fall.
She explained to the prosecutor that he had her pinned to the ground with a chokehold, lifting her off the ground, making it difficult for her to breathe, and she was standing on her tiptoes. Essentially, she was struggling to free herself from his hold.
Jane shared that she darted out of the house, concealing herself behind a wall outside for roughly two hours, hoping he would depart, yet he did not. Later on, they went back to his residence, where she huddled in the backyard as a means of self-protection since Combs is said to have assaulted her.
As reported by Jane, the dispute intensified when it’s claimed that Combs began hitting her on the head. She described the incident to the court, stating, “He was striking my head. He was kicking me. He was yelling all sorts of things and continued to strike.
She alleged that he told her that she was “trying to take him away from his kids and his family.”
She testified that when she said, “No, I’m not. Please leave me alone. Just go away. Stop it,” she was forcibly pulled back to the house. This was done by him gripping her arm and pulling her hair. He dragged her back by both her hair and her arm.
Upon the alleged incident, I personally noticed what appeared to be two swellings about the size of golf balls on Jane’s forehead, along with a darkened eye area.
Jane stated that Homeland Security executed a raid on her home, which was one of several properties owned by Combs, back in March 2023. She mentioned that she contacted Combs’ head of security after agents arrived at her residence.
It was claimed that the mogul had threatened to expose sexually explicit videos involving them, intending to share these with the child’s father, in December of 2023, according to Jane.
In response to their strained relationship, Jane claimed that Combs threatened to release the videos since he felt he had nothing to gain and everything to lose. She later testified that it was a series of persistent phone calls putting her under pressure.
Jane communicated with Khorram regarding the incident, which was subsequently admitted as evidence. In her messages, Jane stated that Combs was intending to share the video where she claimed to be under the influence of strong drugs.
She also stated that she required some distance from Combs, as she was attempting to cope with all the distress he inflicted on her.
Jane told the court that Khorram assured her that Combs would not use the footage.
During her testimony, Jane stated that certain aspects of Ventura’s lawsuit from November 2023, which eventually reached a settlement, seemed similar to her personal encounter with Combs.
As a devoted follower, I shared with the jury my overwhelming feelings, admitting that I came close to losing consciousness, and I believe I did faint. Among the passages, there were three in particular that resonated strongly with me, as they vividly depicted what I was enduring.
In the context of “hotel nights,” Jane expressed that it seemed as if she was living out a personal narrative. This experience prompted her to communicate with Combs through text messages, leading to a confrontation.
In her response to the lawsuit by Ventura, she expressed that reading the content felt distressingly familiar, as if it were her own account of a traumatic sexual experience. She stated that she was ill and the words mirrored her experiences of drug-fueled days and nights. She implied that he had warned her this would happen, manipulating and driving her to the point of mental instability.
The messages went on, leaving me deeply disturbed. It seemed like I had no choice but to comply with one thing after another. You caused me to question my sanity regarding the sexual distress I was experiencing. I feel profoundly violated. This situation clearly crossed a line into sexual abuse.
Later on, Combs referred to Jane during their conversation without her awareness, which was later admitted as evidence. In this conversation, he mentioned that “we did these actions together” and emphasized that “it was then” when he required her “to be present.
Jane, unaware she was being filmed, shared with Combs that she felt extremely queasy upon reviewing Ventura’s papers.
Jane shared that during the “Hotel Nights” she spent with Combs and male escorts, she was frequently under the influence of ecstasy. However, on one particular occasion, she chose to abstain from using drugs while engaging in intimate acts with three different men.
On that particular evening, she was in the company of several gentlemen, as she later attested. Subsequently, she became unwell and vomited. Then, Sean appeared and consoled her by saying, “Don’t worry, you’ll feel better now. Let’s step outside.
Jane said that at the end of the night, she felt “absolutely terrible.”
On the 18th day of the trial, Combs’ defense team submitted a request for a mistrial on June 7. They claimed that Ventura and Bongolan had given false testimony about Bongolan being allegedly dangled over a 17th-floor balcony by the rap mogul.
In their argument, lawyers representing Combs (who initially requested a mistrial but were declined by Judge Subramanian) alleged that the prosecution acted improperly by presenting false or dishonest testimony.
The letter states that during this court case, the government has provided evidence that was either untrue or they reasonably should have known it was untrue, regarding their claim about Mr. Combs dangling Bryana Bongolan from Cassie Ventura’s apartment balcony in September 2016. To prevent an unfair verdict in this trial, the court should declare a mistrial.
In their argument, the defense claims that Bongolan falsified details regarding the incident, highlighting certain questionable discrepancies in her account of events. On June 9, the prosecution plans to present a counter-argument, and the judge is expected to deliver his verdict on the following day.
In April 2023, which marked the beginning of their second year together, Jane stated that P. Diddy (the rap mogul) started covering her home’s rent. This arrangement has continued up until now. She explained that they had agreed a month prior to this, that he would provide her with a monthly stipend.
On that particular ‘night at the hotel,’ Sean presented a sort of ‘love agreement’ between us, as I recalled. It was essentially him inquiring about my preferred amount for an allowance,” she explained to the jury.
month, just moving forward, that’s what he was going to do for me.”
She mentioned that she stated a figure of 15,000 for the allowance, but he replied with 10,000 instead. This is what she explained about it. To find new living spaces, she moved into a different residence while sticking to her budget. Her aim was to discover a place large and spacious enough for her and her child to comfortably reside in. Somewhere they could both feel at home, achieving some equilibrium within their relationship. Previously, she had been pouring all her affection into him, and this move could be seen as his way of reciprocating with something meaningful.
Jane claimed, according to the contract, she was entitled to receive funds “without any coercion or time constraints, for a period of two years.
Jane openly shared that she frequently experienced urinary tract infections and yeast infections nearly every week due to extended sexual encounters. To manage this, she would regularly take antibiotics. She also confessed that she sometimes engaged in sex before fully healing from her UTIs, and during “every” hotel night, she often felt discomfort or soreness in her pelvic region.
The witness additionally disclosed that she experienced discomfort in her shoulders and back while engaging in sexual activities. Furthermore, she mentioned, “I found myself either on the very edge of the chair or the bed, assuming the positions he preferred during foreplay with these men.
Although she felt the pain, Jane chose not to disclose it to Combs as she preferred not to express any negativity.
However, she asserted to the court that the discomfort didn’t just occur in their bedroom. She explained to the jurors that she had her nipples pierced at Combs’ behest because he claimed it would “stimulate him greatly and that was what he desired from his partner.
She said she removed the piercings because they “snagged and bled and got infected.”
However, she testified that Combs was unhappy with her decision.
She claimed that he initially appeared content, but later on, I noticed signs of growing impatience as he waited for a longer time than expected while I was arranging them.
She mentioned that he often said something along the lines of, ‘Where are your piercings? I won’t see you again unless you have them on.’
