The new Netflix series, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, is based on Christie’s classic mystery novel of the same name. Chris Chibnall, known for his work on Doctor Who and Broadchurch, wrote the adaptation.
The film boasts a stellar cast, featuring Mia McKenna-Bruce, Helena Bonham Carter, and Martin Freeman. The story centers around a complicated mystery: a prank that went terribly wrong, leading to a death at an extravagant country house party.
However, audiences are sure to be mesmerized by the beautiful scenery and locations featured in the series, showcasing some truly stunning parts of the UK and other places around the world.
Where did they actually film the show, and what did the creators say about choosing those locations?
Here’s a guide to all the locations where Agatha Christie’s ‘Seven Dials’ was filmed.
Where was Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials filmed?

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials was filmed throughout the UK, with a few short scenes shot in Ronda, Spain, to represent locations within that country.
The grand estate featured in the series, known as Chimneys, was filmed at Badminton House in Badminton. Many other scenes were shot in Bristol, at locations including Barrel House, Queens Square, All Saints Street, Clare Street, The Ox restaurant, Corn Exchange, Arnos Vale, Little King Street, Bridewell Street, and The Bottleyard Studios.
Filming locations included Abbey Green and Great Pulteney Street in Bath, and the Crown Court and Science Library in Cardiff.
Filming also took place in the South West, specifically at Westonbirt and near Minehead/Blue Anchor Station.
Executive producer Chris Sussman explained that they wanted to reimagine Agatha Christie in a fresh and spectacular way, and the locations were chosen with that goal in mind.
The locations we’ve chosen really reflect our goals for the show. It’s a country house mystery, and the house itself is massive and stunning – I think it shows how grand we’re aiming for with this series.

Director Chris Sweeney explained they aimed for a romantic atmosphere at Chimneys, envisioning a place that was beautifully worn down. He drew inspiration from places like Cecil Beaton’s Reddish House, known for its slightly dilapidated state and abundance of geraniums.
We envisioned Lady Caterham as a blend of Cecil Beaton’s style and Vita Sackville-West’s character. Badminton House was perfect for this because it’s a privately owned home that feels both romantically worn and incredibly luxurious.
The locals are wonderful, and that warmth really shows in the house itself. It was a lucky discovery, because most amazing homes like this aren’t available to rent – they’re either used for events or owned by organizations like the National Trust. And those places often lack the charming, slightly worn-in feel that I really love.
Meanwhile, Martin Freeman said he particularly enjoyed filming in Bath.
He described a scene taking place in the town square where Battle is secretly watching Bundle, and she eventually notices him. He was particularly impressed with how the production team recreated the 1920s, calling it truly magical, and praised the stunning hair, costumes, and makeup.
