From 1853 to 1889, the area now known as Washington state was officially called the Washington Territory. Before becoming a state, its borders changed several times, and at one point it included all of present-day Idaho, and portions of both Montana and Wyoming.

I always thought this show took place in the US, but it’s so interesting to learn they actually filmed it all the way up in Canada! Specifically, they used the beautiful province of Alberta as their backdrop. It’s amazing how they made it look like the States!

The show was filmed on location in the Calgary area, with production taking place from May to October 2024.
