At first glance, Where Winds Meet appears to be an exciting action game with impressive parkour, intense combat, and cinematic moments. But it’s also surprisingly unusual. You can play mahjong as a dog, throw tomatoes at players getting arrested, and even trick the game’s characters into believing you’re expecting their child!
It doesn’t surprise me when players say a goose is the scariest enemy in the game. Apparently, geese were a real threat in 10th-century China (according to PC Gamer), and many players are finding this “Maniacal Goose” early in the game, and it’s defeating them faster than any regular boss.
Where Winds Meet’s Most Powerful Enemy Seems To Be A Demonic Goose
At the beginning of the game, you’ll likely encounter a quest to help an injured goose. If you fail, that goose transforms into a surprisingly tough boss with its own health bar and a powerful kick! It’s really not meant to be fought early in the game, but players are trying to defeat it anyway because there’s an achievement for doing so.
People are genuinely scared of this goose! One Reddit user compared it to a boss from the video game Elden Ring, and many others shared stories of geese actually fighting bears. It’s not just one aggressive goose, either – any goose in the game seems capable of seriously injuring you. As one Reddit user, Dreemsequence, learned the hard way, it’s probably best not to provoke a whole group of them at once.
Luckily, there’s a surprisingly simple – and funny – way to defeat these aggressive geese. Players have discovered that the game doesn’t have swimming animations yet. This means you can freeze a goose and then use Tai Chi to pull it into any water nearby, where it will drown. It’s hilariously ironic to kill geese by dragging them into the water, and it perfectly captures the quirky, lighthearted spirit of Where Winds Meet.
