Which Anime You Should Watch Based on Your Favorite KPop Demon Hunters Character

KPop Demon Hunters is a huge hit, and its characters are a big reason why. The movie, available on Netflix, boasts fantastic music and animation, but it really shines thanks to its three strong, relatable female leads. The complex male character and supporting cast add even more depth, creating a truly captivating story. Viewers will likely find themselves rewatching it again and again, and immediately searching for similar movies.

If you enjoyed the movie KPop Demon Hunters, there are lots of anime you might like. There’s something for everyone, depending on what aspects of the film you loved most. Here are some anime recommendations, especially if you have a favorite character from the movie.

7) Rumi: Mob Psycho 100

At its heart, KPop Demon Hunters is about Rumi’s journey of self-acceptance and finding her voice. Being half-demon, she struggles with fears and insecurities that become a major challenge. Luckily, she overcomes these issues by confronting them directly, making her a relatable and engaging character. If you connect with Rumi’s story, you’ll likely enjoy Mob Psycho 100. While it doesn’t feature demons, it explores similar themes with evil spirits and a protagonist who also battles inner darkness. He uses telekinesis to fight these spirits, but also needs to come to terms with his own struggles, creating a parallel narrative that will resonate with fans of Rumi’s story.

6) Zoey: Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer doesn’t have the musical moments of KPop Demon Hunters, but it does follow characters who track down and destroy demons — and though it gets dark, it has plenty of charm. It’s a great choice for any fan of the Netflix movie, but especially for those who enjoy Zoey’s character. Zoey is the upbeat friend of the main trio, and she brings positivity to most of her interactions. She’s still a force to be reckoned with, though. And there are quite a few characters in Demon Slayer who fit that description, from Tanjiro to heroines like Mitsuri and Shinobu. Unfortunately, they don’t do as much rapping as Zoey, but they’re still just as easy to appreciate, whether they’re being inspirational or in battle.

5) Mira: Akame ga Kill!

Mira is the no-nonsense friend in KPop Demon Hunters, but she’s as loyal as she is intimidating. For fans of her character, Akame ga Kill! might be a fun watch. But, be warned: there are no supernatural creatures. Instead, the assassins in Akame ga Kill! are attempting to overthrow a corrupt regime. It’s a far cry from the plot of KPop Demon Hunters, but all the female characters in this anime are as formidable as Mira. They’re intimidating to approach, and especially to spar with. If Mira’s personality is up your alley, they’ll likely be fun for you to follow.

4) Jinu: Inuyasha

If you liked Jinu’s story in KPop Demon Hunters, you should definitely watch Inuyasha. The main character is also half-demon and deals with the challenges of having two sides to his personality, just like Jinu. Beyond that, Inuyasha features supernatural elements and a developing romance that fans of KPop Demon Hunters might enjoy. Plus, if you love Jinu’s animal friends, you’ll adore Kirara, a cat demon who’s sure to win you over, just like Derpy and Sussie!

3) The Saja Boys: Uta no Prince-sama

Besides Jinu, the members of the Saja Boys aren’t developed as individuals. However, the group as a whole might attract viewers, particularly those who enjoy K-pop. If you’re interested in seeing a similar dynamic, the anime Uta no Prince-sama is a good place to start. It’s about a girl who attends an arts school and gets involved with a group of boys trying to become idols—their ambitions are similar to those of the Saja Boys, though those boys have a secret: they’re demons working against HUNTR/X.

2) Bobby: Odd Taxi

Bobby isn’t a particularly well-developed character, but he’s just trying to do his job when he gets caught up in a big conspiracy. This is similar to the situation faced by the main character in Odd Taxi. While Odd Taxi focuses on a cab driver instead of a music manager, both shows center around someone unexpectedly involved in a mystery surrounding a missing pop star. Fans of KPop Demon Hunters might enjoy this element, even though Odd Taxi doesn’t have any supernatural themes. Ultimately, it’s a really engaging mystery and a surprisingly good anime that deserves more recognition.

1) Gwi-Ma: Jujutsu Kaisen

It’s hard to imagine Gwi-Ma is a popular character in KPop Demon Hunters, but we’re including him anyway. If you’re looking for stronger demons as villains, Jujutsu Kaisen delivers – Sukuna appears much more often while causing widespread chaos. He’s just as ruthless as Gwi-Ma, but a lot more fun to watch. Jujutsu Kaisen also has many other things fans of KPop Demon Hunters might enjoy, like its unique cursed spirits and its heroes who are both likable and imperfect.
