So, I’m really excited about Ashes of Creation, and I’ve been reading up on it. One of the cool things is that, at least when it first launches in Early Access, you actually get to choose where you want to start your adventure. But honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming – I’m trying to figure out which starting area will be the best for me!
These two areas have distinct stories and appearances, giving them each a unique feel. But how do they play differently? Is one better than the other when it comes to gameplay? Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of each.
Well, this quick guide will answer all of these questions for you!
Which Starting Area Should You Choose | Ashes of Creation – Early Access
As previously stated, we currently have two starting areas available. These are the Divine Gate of Aela, located in The Riverlands, and the Divine Gate of the Dünzekell, found in The Anvils.
We definitely suggest choosing The Riverlands. It’s currently more complete and polished than The Anvils, which is still under development.
The game now guides you through things more smoothly, making it easier to learn how to play. It’s less confusing because the quests do a better job of teaching you the fundamentals. Because of this, it’s definitely the best choice if you’re just starting out!
However, players familiar with MMORPGs, or those starting a new character, might also enjoy The Anvils. It allows for a more relaxed playstyle and greater freedom to explore from the very beginning.
Because the game is still being developed and doesn’t hold your hand too much, it can be a little rough for newcomers. That’s why we still suggest The Riverlands as a better starting point for those new to the game.
