Which Stranger Things Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

As a huge fan, I’m finding this fifth and final season of Stranger Things incredibly emotional. It’s a weird mix of excitement for what’s to come and sadness that it’s ending! I mean, this show has been a phenomenon since 2016 – we’ve literally watched these characters grow up, dealing with everything from first crushes to fighting monsters from another dimension. While I haven’t personally battled Vecna, a lot of the show’s themes – like the struggles of growing up or even being a parent – really hit home.

A fun way to understand the characters in Stranger Things is by looking at them through the lens of astrology. Because the show’s writers created such distinct personalities, it’s easy to match each character with a zodiac sign. See if you can find your own sun sign and discover which Hawkins resident is your astrological counterpart!

This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things Seasons 1-4.

Aries: Eleven

Born between March 21st and April 19th, Aries individuals are energetic and full of life, much like Eleven at the start of Stranger Things. Aries tend to act impulsively with a bold, almost innocent, bravery. Eleven consistently relies on her strong will and determination to overcome obstacles – she physically flips a van to save her friends in Season 1 and fiercely defends herself against Angela in Season 4. Her powers originated from intense emotion, and this mirrors the typical Aries journey: evolving from someone who reacts with force to a confident and mindful fighter.

Taurus: Joyce Byers

Born between April 20th and May 20th, Tauruses are known for being grounded, reliable, and building strong foundations in their lives. They trust their instincts and feelings more than just logic. In Stranger Things, Joyce Byers perfectly embodies these traits. From building a makeshift communication system in Season 1, to trying to create a normal life in Season 2, and her unwavering belief that Hopper is alive in Season 4, Joyce consistently demonstrates incredible determination. She’s willing to do anything for her family, even spending all her money to travel the world and negotiate with dangerous people, and she even survives a plane crash! Like many Tauruses, Joyce is a fiercely protective mother who will stop at nothing to keep her loved ones safe.

Gemini: Dustin Henderson

Born between May 21st and June 20th, Geminis are often misunderstood. Instead of being two-faced, they’re actually flexible, great communicators, and naturally curious – they simply understand that people aren’t defined by one single trait. Like Dustin from Hawkins, they excel at connecting different ideas and people. Dustin’s ability to bring things together, even if he’s a bit energetic, makes him the perfect go-between. Geminis thrive on gathering information and building connections, acting as a bridge between different worlds – almost like a human network. Dustin’s radio tower, Cerebro, perfectly embodies this Gemini trait, built for long-distance communication.

Cancer: Mike Wheeler

People born under the sign of Cancer (June 21 – July 22) deeply desire emotional security and meaningful connections. Like the crab that represents their sign, they often have a tough exterior that hides a sensitive inner self. In the first season of Stranger Things, Mike embodies these traits. His basement becomes a safe haven, and his immediate care for Eleven – providing her with food and shelter – is a classic Cancer response to someone in need. As Mike and Eleven grow closer, he sometimes struggles with jealousy, possessiveness, and mood swings, which contributes to Cancer’s reputation for being overly sensitive. Season 4 highlights a common Cancer challenge: Mike’s difficulty expressing his feelings. He feels love deeply, but fears being vulnerable. Once he finally opens up, his emotions are overwhelming.

Leo: Steve Harrington

Born between July 23rd and August 22nd, Leos believe in the power of authenticity. They’re often charming, fiercely loyal, and enjoy being dramatic. Steve’s character development in the series closely mirrors this Leo journey – moving from seeking superficial status to finding genuine purpose. In Season 1, Steve acts like an immature Leo, trying too hard to appear cool. But as his friendship with Dustin grows, he truly comes into his own. He starts helping the kids without expecting anything in return, and even his heartfelt speech to Nancy shows his bravery and true character. Ultimately, Steve demonstrates what a Leo does best: leading with kindness and courage.

Virgo: Nancy Wheeler

Born between August 23rd and September 22nd, Virgos are known for their analytical minds and dedication to finding the truth. They’re adaptable, practical, observant, and pay close attention to detail. The character Nancy exemplifies these traits – she’s a natural investigator who carefully examines situations to get to the heart of the matter. We see this immediately in Season 1 with her pursuit of answers about Barb’s disappearance. Throughout the series, Nancy strives for excellence – whether it’s in her career, like her journalism internship in Season 3, or in her personal life. Her meticulous planning and execution, such as infiltrating the asylum in Season 4, showcase classic Virgo intelligence. Even Vecna’s vision for her reflects a core Virgo fear: that despite their best efforts and attention to detail, they might still be unable to prevent disaster.

Libra: Lucas Sinclair

Born between September 23rd and October 22nd, Libras value fairness and believe in considering all sides of a situation. In the first season of the show, Lucas embodies this by being initially doubtful of Eleven, but ultimately becoming her strongest supporter. He frequently acts as a peacemaker between Dustin and Mike, always trying to find common ground. Like a true Libra, he constantly weighs his options, which is reflected in his complicated relationship with Max. In Season 4, when Lucas tries to both support his basketball team and help his friends fight Vecna, he struggles to balance both commitments. Ultimately, his decision to leave the game and join his friends demonstrates him finally prioritizing what’s most important to him – a classic Libran move.

Scorpio: Max Mayfield

Born between October 23rd and November 21st, Scorpios are known for being mysterious and going through big changes. This is represented by their symbols: the scorpion, eagle, and phoenix, which show a path from self-protection to understanding, and finally, to renewal. Max is a very private person and can be harsh when she feels threatened, only opening up to Lucas once she trusts him. Eventually, she helps El understand the importance of being true to herself, not trying to be what others want. However, in Season 4, Max faces a dark and difficult time. She’s deeply depressed and struggling with conflicting feelings like relief, guilt, and anger. Like a true Scorpio, she handles intense emotional challenges with quiet strength. In the Season 4 finale, while in a coma and trapped in Vecna’s world, her very survival is at stake.

Sagittarius: Robin Buckley

As a critic, I’m fascinated by how the show subtly weaves astrological traits into its characters. We’re seeing a strong Sagittarian influence with Robin in Season 3, and it’s brilliant. Born between November 22nd and December 21st, Sagittarians are all about growth through experience, and Robin embodies that as someone who’s constantly learning – whether it’s languages or obscure facts. Her ability to spot connections others miss while decoding the Russian code feels distinctly Sagittarian – a knack for seeing the bigger picture through seemingly random leaps. Even her tendency to ramble under pressure, oversharing details that seem irrelevant, is spot-on for the sign. It’s not just about intellect, though; she genuinely brightens every scene she’s in, bringing that classic Sagittarian energy to the screen.

Capricorn: Jim Hopper

Born between December 22nd and January 19th, Capricorns are known for being responsible, structured, and earning respect. They’re often practical, protective, and willing to take on challenges. The character Hopper, initially presented as a hardened sheriff, embodies these traits when Joyce convinces him Will is still alive, prompting him to relentlessly pursue the truth. He tries to create stability and order, like when he builds a cabin and establishes rules for El. In Season 4, Hopper shows his affection for Joyce through his actions, a typical Capricorn trait. Like the mountain goat, Capricorn’s symbol, Hopper is a resilient survivor who overcomes difficulties.

Aquarius: Jonathan Byers

Born between January 20th and February 18th, those with the sign of Aquarius often prefer to observe from a distance, and this is reflected in Jonathan’s personality and his love for photography. While he might come across as detached or unusual, his skepticism combined with a desire for a better world is simply his way of being true to himself, even if it means going against the grain. Jonathan isn’t interested in being popular and actively questions social structures, even calling out others for being inauthentic. He fiercely supports his brother Will, recognizing him as an outsider too. Throughout the fourth season, he explores philosophical ideas and distances himself, eventually letting Nancy pursue her own goals. However, his journey reveals that withdrawing from others isn’t always about gaining wisdom; sometimes it’s simply a fear of getting close to people.

Pisces: Will Byers

Born between February 19th and March 20th, Pisces is a sign associated with blurred lines and a dissolving of boundaries. This is reflected in the character of Will Byers; when he’s trapped in the Upside Down, he exists in a state between life and death, and upon his return, he has trouble separating his memories. Like many Pisces, Will is deeply sensitive and feels things intensely – he mourns the end of childhood (symbolized by the destruction of Castle Byers) as his friends grow up, and struggles to understand his own feelings for Mike and Lucas. A key Pisces trait is feeling both deeply connected to and excluded from the happiness of others, and we see this clearly when Will silently cries watching Mike and El reconnect – experiencing the full weight of their joy while feeling left out.
