Sophie Turner will be a major star for Prime Video, beginning with her role as the famous adventurer Lara Croft in the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider series. While we don’t know when it will be released, fans have already gotten a sneak peek at Turner in costume, and she’s talked about how she’s preparing for the part. It’s promising, but we’ll have to wait before seeing her in action. In the meantime, Turner is also starring in another Prime Video series that’s already proving popular with viewers.
According to FlixPatrol, which tracks streaming popularity, the TV show Steal is currently the second most popular series on Prime Video and overall. It’s only behind Fallout in the rankings. All six episodes of Steal were released on Prime Video at the same time on January 21st.
Why Steal Is a Big Hit On Prime Video

In the series Steal, Gemma Turner plays Zara Dunne, an office worker whose normal day is disrupted when a daring group of criminals pulls off Britain’s biggest-ever armed robbery. The show has been generally well-received, earning a 77% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising its exciting genre elements and the cast’s performances. Many reviews specifically highlight Turner, noting her captivating performance and skillful handling of the role.
I’ve been hearing great things about Steal, and honestly, it seems perfect for a weekend binge! It’s only six episodes long, and each one is around 50 minutes, so you can easily finish the whole series. What I really like is that it doesn’t waste your time with unnecessary fluff – it’s all action and suspense. The story really ramps up the tension, and I’m the type of viewer who just has to see what happens next, so I think a lot of us will end up watching multiple episodes back-to-back. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something new on Prime!
While Steal doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking in the heist thriller genre, it’s still a fun and engaging watch. It’s particularly interesting because it showcases Sophie Turner’s ability to excel in both action-packed scenes and more subtle, character-driven moments – something fans of Game of Thrones already know she can do. This film proves she’s well-equipped for the role of Lara Croft, suggesting her portrayal could be a compelling mix of action and emotional depth, creating a truly captivating heroine.
It’ll be interesting to see how popular Steal stays on Prime Video. Because all the episodes were released at once instead of weekly, people might finish watching it quickly and lose interest after a month or so. This could lead to a drop in viewers as they move on to other shows. However, if Steal gets a lot of positive buzz, it could remain a top 10 hit for quite a while.
