Whitney Port is reflecting on a heartbreaking chapter in her personal life.
Kristin Cavallari, known from The Hills, has often discussed the difficulties she faced trying to have children. Since welcoming her son, Sonny, now 8, with her husband Tim Rosenham in 2017, she’s shared how this experience has changed her perspective on being a mother.
Whitney, 40, recently shared with Spread the Jelly that she always imagined having more than one child. She admitted that adjusting to being a mom to an only child has been a bit strange, and she still feels like something is missing. She explained that she’s still figuring out her identity as a mother because of this feeling of incompleteness.
You know, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about family size and what feels right. It’s been a bit of a journey for me personally, as my husband and I have been hoping to expand our family but haven’t had success getting pregnant with a second child. I’m really working on accepting where we are and finding joy in the beautiful family we do have, while still keeping the door open to possibilities. It’s a process, and I’m learning to be kind to myself along the way.
Whitney and Tim have been leaning on each other as they navigate the difficult process of trying to have a baby. After experiencing two miscarriages in under two years, the couple, who married in 2015, decided to explore surrogacy in 2023.
The situation became even more difficult when they shared that their surrogate had also experienced two miscarriages.
Whitney shared on her podcast that they still have three embryos and are working with a surrogacy agency. While they haven’t started from scratch, each miscarriage feels like a setback. She also revealed that these losses have brought on a new wave of emotions.
She recently shared that she sometimes doubts herself as a mother, especially when comparing herself to other working moms. She explained it’s hard to feel equal when it seems like others have more demanding lives or bigger challenges to juggle, leading to a sense of inadequacy.

Whitney explained she’s spent a lot of time understanding and overcoming her self-doubt, because she doesn’t want it to take away from appreciating what’s most important to her: her family.
I usually remind myself that having time with just my three close people is a really good thing, and I truly appreciate it. I’m thankful we even had that opportunity. Still, I can’t shake the feeling that something is missing.
As for where she and Tim are in the second phase of their surrogacy journey?
We realized we needed to make some big changes, so we switched doctors and went through the egg retrieval and freezing process again. We also found a new surrogate. Now we’re finalizing the contracts with her and are hoping to do the embryo transfer before the end of the year. That’s our current status.

Olivia Culpo revealed on her show, The Culpo Sisters, that she wants to have children but is concerned about her ability to conceive. She was diagnosed with a medical condition in 2020 and underwent surgery, which may make getting pregnant difficult.
Endometriosis can impact fertility in several ways. It can cause tissue to grow around or on the ovaries, potentially lowering egg quality and even causing scarring in the fallopian tubes, she explained.

Caelynn, known from Bachelor Nation, recently opened up about the challenges she and her husband, Dean Bell, have faced trying to have a baby since getting married in 2023.
In a YouTube video from March 2025, Caelynn shared that she was taking a more relaxed approach, saying, “It’s difficult, but I’m not stressing myself out as much as I did when I first started trying.”
Okay, so things have been a little tough emotionally lately, but my husband and I are staying optimistic while we go through some medical testing. We’re really just trying to get to the bottom of what’s happening and figure things out, and we’re facing it together. It’s definitely a process, but keeping a positive mindset is key!

I’ve been following Jelly Roll’s wife’s story since June 2024, and she’s been so open about everything she and her family have been going through with IVF. It’s really inspiring to see her share their journey.
She shared on Instagram that they originally intended to keep their IVF journey private, but decided to be open about it as they’ve always valued honesty and transparency.
She’s been openly sharing the ups and downs, the anxieties, and the emotional challenges of her medical journey on her podcast, Dumb Blonde.
Despite the challenges, though, she is open to other options to grow her family.
She admitted it was difficult, but ultimately she relies on faith. As she shared on her podcast in November 2025, she believes things will happen if they’re meant to, and if not, adoption is always an option.

The cohost of Dancing With the Stars has publicly discussed her battle with endometriosis, a condition affecting women’s reproductive health, and is taking steps to protect her ability to have children when she’s ready.
In June 2025, she shared that she froze her eggs for the third time.

In July 2024, Whitney confirmed she’s preparing for a second egg retrieval.
I’m feeling much better this time around, because I have a better idea of what to expect, and I really trust my doctor’s guidance.
Whitney has consistently expressed that her family feels complete with three members, regardless of whether or not they decide to have another child.
In a heartfelt birthday message to her son on his 7th birthday in July 2024, she shared that they feel complete as a family, especially as they begin trying for another child. She described him as a wonderful blessing, expressing their joy in watching him grow and appreciating his easygoing personality.

Michelle Yeoh, known for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once, has spoken about the difficulties she faced trying to get pregnant with her first husband, Dickson Poon. She married Jean Todt in 2023 after being engaged for 19 years.
Michelle revealed in a November 2024 podcast interview that she always dreamed of having children and underwent fertility treatments to try and make it happen. She described the monthly emotional toll as incredibly difficult, saying it often felt like a personal failure.
She explained that eventually, you need to stop blaming yourself. Sometimes, our bodies simply don’t work as expected, and that’s okay. The key is to accept it and keep moving forward.

The rapper, who has a son named Wilde with her husband Maximillion Cooper, previously shared the painful experience of losing a pregnancy. This happened because of an ectopic pregnancy, and occurred while she was filming her show, Eve.
In her memoir, Who’s That Girl?, Eve shared that she discovered she was pregnant in 2006. She needed immediate surgery, which meant taking a two-week break from filming. Looking back, she wasn’t sure why she told everyone on set she had appendicitis, admitting she might have been avoiding the truth even with herself.
She explained that if she lost her baby, she wasn’t sure two weeks would be enough time to recover emotionally. As it turned out, even that wasn’t quite enough physical recovery time before she had to return to work on set. She’d lost a lot of weight from the surgery and was very weak.

Selling Sunset star Maya Vander has openly discussed the challenges she and her husband, Romain Bonnet, faced while trying to have a baby. She was just 15 years old when she gave birth to their son, Austin.
Speaking with TopMob News in September 2024, she admitted she wasn’t sure how things would turn out. She explained they were taking things one step at a time, and she’s currently very focused on finishing her book and managing her commitments. She believes that worrying or overextending herself would be counterproductive.
Mary revealed she had surgery to correct a condition where her uterus was divided by a membrane. She and Romain aren’t in a hurry to make any big decisions right now and are content enjoying life with their dog.
The real estate agent also mentioned their dog, Thor, saying Romaine is completely devoted to him. Even if the sale doesn’t go through, Romaine is content because he has Thor, and they’ll be alright – everything happens for a reason.

Oh my gosh, Erin Andrews and Jarret Stoll are just the cutest! I was SO thrilled when they had little Mack in July 2023, but you know, their road to becoming parents hasn’t been easy. It breaks my heart knowing Erin battled cervical cancer way back in 2017, but they made it through, and now they have their beautiful baby boy! I’ve been following their story forever, and I’m just so happy for them both.
I was SO relieved when she announced she was going to try for a baby! She’d been so smart and frozen her eggs before everything with her health, and then she actually did IVF! And the best part? She decided to share the whole journey with us, her fans. It’s just…amazing and so inspiring to watch!
She explained that she was simply exhausted from staying silent and finally decided to share her experiences in a 2021 essay. It had been a difficult and painful process, to the point where she felt disconnected from her own emotions. She described feeling like a robot, trapped on an unfair and unpredictable ride where bad news was more common than good.
I’m very open about my feelings, so I was able to honestly share how difficult this experience was, and how I understand it’s a struggle many couples and families face when trying to have a child.
