It’s been almost a year since Race Across the World was last on television, and now the exciting sixth season is finally here.
Viewers will meet five teams as they compete in a race covering over 12,000 kilometers across Europe and Asia – the world’s largest landmass.
I’m so excited to follow their adventure! It’s starting in Palermo, and they’re going to travel through eight different countries – can you believe that? – before finally ending up in northern Mongolia. It sounds like an incredible trip!
So, there’s this couple, Mark and Margo – they’re in-laws, and they’re embarking on some big adventure. Honestly, I’m already wondering if their relationship will survive the trip! It’s that classic ‘will they or won’t they’ dynamic, and I’m totally hooked to see how it plays out.
As we wait to find out, here’s everything we know about the Race Across the World pair.
Who are Mark and Margo?

Relationship: In-laws
Okay, so I’m totally hooked on this show, and it’s got the most interesting pair! There’s Mark, a retired architect who’s 66, and he’s competing with Margo, a hypnotherapist who’s 59. Honestly, their connection is really special, and I have a feeling it’s going to give them a real edge.
Mark and Margo’s connection goes back many years. Mark was first married to Margo’s sister, Julie, but she unfortunately passed away in 2022.
Honestly, going into the race, we weren’t nearly as stressed as some of the other teams! I think we had a lot of confidence, maybe even a little bit of swagger. We’re seasoned travelers, we’re all adults, and we were just really excited and ready to go for it. We felt pretty good, to be honest.
Mark said he was really excited about working with Margo because he knew they’d have a good time. He emphasized that enjoying the experience was his main priority.
Why did Mark and Margo sign up for Race Across the World?
Mark and Margo entered Race Across the World hoping to maintain their close friendship, fulfilling a final wish from their friend, Julie.
Mark shared with TopMob that his late wife, Julie, liked the idea but wouldn’t have participated herself. He explained that one of her final requests was for him and Margo to continue the friendship they’d developed while caring for her, and that this felt like a natural continuation of that bond.
He explained that he’d known Margo for a very long time, but they never really clicked because she was so free-spirited. He felt Julia was what held everything together.
