The exciting show, Celebrity Race Against the World, is returning with a fresh group of celebrities and their families, embarking on an incredible journey across continents.
This season, the competition begins on a Caribbean island. Contestants will then travel through various checkpoints, ultimately aiming for the finish line in Colombia’s La Guajira Peninsula – a region often called the gateway to South America. Like in past seasons, the celebrities are given a limited budget – this time, just £30 per day – to cover their expenses, mirroring the cost of a plane ticket for the entire route. This is one of the smallest budgets in the show’s history. To make things even more challenging, they won’t have access to smartphones or the internet for navigation or assistance.
Roman and Harleymoon Kemp are competing against other celebrities in a race to the first checkpoint. Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know about them.
Who are Roman and Harleymoon?

Relationship: Brother and sister
From: London
Jobs: Radio DJ and singer/songwriter
Instagram: @romankemp and @harleymoonkemp
I’ve been listening to Roman Kemp on the radio for years! He’s a 32-year-old DJ who really brightened my mornings hosting the breakfast show on CapitalFM – he did that from 2017 all the way up to 2024, which is a long run!
Roman Kemp is running in the race with his 36-year-old sister, Harleymoon, who is a singer and songwriter. Both Roman and Harleymoon are the children of musicians Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman, who were famous in the 1980s with the bands Spandeau Ballet and Wham! respectively. While competing in South America, Roman had a funny language mishap, telling TopMob magazine he accidentally called Harleymoon “my beautiful” instead of “my sister” in Spanish for about a week.
Why did Roman and Harleymoon want to take part in Celebrity Race Across the World?
When someone suggested he bring his dad instead of his sister on the show, Roman immediately said, “Absolutely not!”
I feel fortunate to spend so much time with my dad. I do it because I want to be able to share those memories with my own children someday, showing them what a strong relationship we had. And that’s why getting to do something special with my sister is such a gift.
Being able to experience things and then share them with others, especially for future generations, is a real gift. On a personal level, travel broadens my horizons and gives me a new appreciation for life by exposing me to different cultures and experiences.
Harleymoon shared with TopMob magazine that their mother had been approached about appearing on the show before.
My mum, Shirlie Kemp – you might remember her as a singer with Wham! and Pepsi & Shirlie – was originally asked to compete on the first season of Race Across the World. She considered taking me with her, but decided it would be too challenging. I was happy when I got the opportunity to participate myself, she explained.
