Now that I’m getting older – I’m almost 60 – I still love to compete, but I’ve also learned that winning isn’t the most important thing in life.

If she wins the £120,000 prize, she plans to donate some of the money to charity. This decision is inspired by the loss of her brother, who passed away in 2011 from pulmonary hypertension.

She also dreams of taking her entire family on vacation. She explained that her family is large and has faced some difficult times recently. With her father’s passing a few years ago, her mother is now alone and lives far away from her.

My sisters are wonderful and have always been so supportive, especially when caring for her. I’d really like to treat them all to a special vacation somewhere beautiful.

Why did Amanda apply for The Traitors?

Amanda applied to the show because she both enjoys the game, inspired by the TV series, and is a big fan of Claudia Winkleman.

She thinks her experience as a police detective uniquely prepared her to succeed in the competition, giving her a valuable set of skills.

I quickly became engrossed in the game and, honestly, I started to believe I had a real chance of winning. Playing the role of a detective felt natural, since I have experience interviewing both criminals and victims. It’s all about connecting the clues and figuring out what’s really going on, separating truth from deception, she explained.

Listening to Amanda, I was struck by how clearly she described what it takes to be a traitor – a real talent for lying, keeping your emotions hidden, and skillfully changing the subject to protect yourself. It’s unsettling, but she admitted she’s become quite skilled at being deceptive, devious, and cunning throughout all of this.

However, I genuinely want to help others, which is why I became a police officer. The job requires you to remain friendly and composed, even in stressful situations. I believe those qualities would be valuable in this role.
