*WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE STRICTLY COME DANCING WEEK 2 RESULTS SHOW*
Strictly Come Dancing was back with a bang last night, October 4th, as the fifteen celebrity contestants and their professional partners took to the dance floor, eager to wow the judges.
Amber Davies, Lewis Cope, and George Clarke were the top three performers, scoring 56, 55, and 54 respectively.
Okay, so things were really close at the bottom of the leaderboard! Chris Robshaw, Thomas Skinner, and Ross King were all bunched together with scores of 30, 29, and 25 respectively. That’s because their points from the first two weeks were added together to get those totals.
Ultimately, the decision wouldn’t be up to the judges; instead, the public would have the final say with a public vote.

Sadly, Thomas Skinner and Chris Robshaw found themselves in the dance-off, meaning they had to compete against each other to avoid elimination.
Both couples repeated their dances. Thomas and Amy danced the Salsa to a remix of Dizzee Rascal and Armand van Helden’s “Bonkers,” while Chris and Nadiya performed their Viennese Waltz to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’s “Die With A Smile.”
The judges unanimously voted to save Chris, meaning Thomas Skinner was eliminated.
Because all the judges agreed on who to save, Motsi Mabuse didn’t need to use her tie-breaking vote this week. She confirmed she would have made the same decision as the others if she had been asked to vote.

After being asked about his experience on the show by Tess Daly, Thomas shared how much he’d enjoyed it, despite having no prior dance experience and a brief time on the program. He praised his partner Amy, calling her amazing, and emphasized how much fun he had. He admitted he wasn’t a strong dancer, but expressed gratitude to Amy and apologized for their performance, saying she was in a league of her own.
When asked about her experience on Strictly this year, Amy Dowden shared that she’d really gotten to know Tom, describing him as lovely and supportive. They had a lot of fun and worked incredibly hard, and while winning would have been wonderful, she’s realized that happiness, health, and simply being alive are what truly matter. She’s gained a lifelong friend and wouldn’t trade her time on the show for anything.
I was disappointed for the young dancer who trained in ballroom but didn’t get to perform it on the show. The past three years have been tough for me personally, and I lost my confidence as a dancer. But being here with you, smiling and laughing, really brought that confidence back – and I’m truly grateful.
Next week, the remaining 14 couples will dance to movie-themed music on Strictly Come Dancing. The show returns on Saturday, October 11th at 6:05pm.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 11th October at 6:05pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
