Tonight, The Great British Bake Off made a comeback on Channel 4, celebrating its 15-year journey that began with its initial broadcast on television screens.
This week, the bakers embarked on creating cakes, each vying for a chance to leave an impact on the judges while competing for the title of Star Baker.
Initially, the bakers tackled the Signature task, aiming to create a flawless Swiss roll with an embedded design. After that came the first Technical round, during which the bakers had to independently produce fondant fancies, making the process challenging due to the need to decide on flavors and recipes.
Finally, it was time for the Showstopper, and the bakers were tasked with baking a landscape cake.
However, the clock ran out for one contestant on The Great British Bake Off 2025. Keep reading to discover who said their goodbyes.
Who left The Great British Bake Off 2025?
Hassan – Week 1

In my humble opinion, as a keen observer of baking competitions, I must say that this time around, it was my fellow contestant Hassan who had to bid adieu to the Bake Off tent earlier than anticipated. The always charming Alison Hammond found herself in the unenviable position of having to break the news to us all – alas, Hassan would no longer be gracing our screens with his culinary prowess.
Following his elimination from the show, Hassan shared: “I must admit I’m feeling somewhat disappointed, but this wasn’t entirely unexpected. The level of talent here is truly remarkable; everyone’s so exceptional in their baking skills and they all have such warm personalities. Though my time here was brief, I’ve really relished the experience. I hope to take some lessons from it, regroup, and possibly return to baking once the opportunity arises.
Upon contemplating the difficulties, Hassan acknowledged that the Swiss roll marked a less-than-ideal moment for him within the tent since it failed to meet his expectations, and its impact was noticeable in his subsequent baking endeavors.
Hassan commented, “To be honest, the way my very first baked item turned out was simply terrible; considering the time and effort invested in it. But on the bright side, it seemed to taste better than it appeared.
