Whoopi Goldberg isn’t afraid to share her view on the perks of being single.

The TV star openly admitted she still enjoys meeting people at bars and isn’t opposed to casual relationships.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what I just heard! On The View today, this amazing 70-year-old was talking about this article in Cosmopolitan, and it totally spoke to me! Apparently, this woman was admitting she still dreams about being single, you know, like those fun days of just meeting people and going out! Even though she’s happily with someone long-term! Can you even imagine?! It was so relatable, and I’ve been thinking about it all day. It just proves everyone has those little ‘what if’ moments, right?

When Joy Behar asked if she could relate to the topic, Whoopi responded by saying she is single and enjoys going out to bars and socializing. She jokingly added that she occasionally has brief, casual encounters when she feels like it.

“I am not married to anybody,” the Sister Act star added. “I don’t have responsibility.”

Whoopi Goldberg wasn’t alone in feeling that way. Her co-host, Sara Haines, admitted she sometimes misses being single too.

“I really need some alone time,” Sara said. “Not just a quick night out, but a proper break where I can relax, watch what I want, and not have to check in with anyone or explain my plans.”

She explained that the challenges weren’t about being single, but about the responsibilities that come with life. While actively searching for a partner can be tiring, she really enjoyed being single. She loves having the freedom to focus on herself and her own life, especially since marrying Max Shifrin in 2014.

Sunny Hostin also chimed in, playfully admitting she enjoys it when her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, travels.

Oh my gosh, she just said she’s wandering around her house in a caftan! A CAFTAN! And get this – jazz is playing, and she’s sipping on her Belle Glos wine. Seriously, can you even imagine? It just sounds… perfect. She’s right, it really is a good life, and I’m living for it through her!

Whoopi Goldberg has often talked about what she looks for in a partner. Just last month, the actress—who has been married three times before, to Alvin Martin (1973-1979), David Claessen (1986-1988), and Lyle Trachtenberg (1994-1995)—shared that she’s currently happy being single.

She explained to Jeremy O. Harris in an Interview magazine conversation on February 4th that being lonely and being alone aren’t the same. She personally doesn’t often feel lonely because she’s usually surrounded by people who keep her company.

The EGOT winner, who shares 51-year-old daughter Alex Martin with Alvin, recently opened up about her personal life. She honestly admitted she tends to prioritize her own needs and has no plans to get married again.

“Hit-and-runs are great. I don’t mind those,” she told Don Lemon. “But you can’t spend the night.”

Whoopi added, “I want to see you when I see you, and then you go.”
