Daddy gang, picture this: two major companies want to be your new podcast home.
In 2021, Alex Cooper faced a big decision after the success of her podcast, Call Her Daddy. Both Amazon and Spotify were interested in working with her, and while she saw the benefits of both options, she ultimately chose to partner with Spotify instead of Amazon.
Alex explained on the March 5th episode of The Burnouts podcast that taking the Spotify job was a simple decision. He said it offered roughly the same pay with a slightly easier workload, leading him to wonder, ‘Why wouldn’t I take it?’
The 31-year-old said Amazon wanted her to create more content, but much of it would have been available only to paying subscribers.
It was overwhelming,” she said. “Being an independent creator without a company to support me, I was really trying to figure out if I could actually pull this off and deliver what was expected.”
Especially because Alex wanted to make sure she was being “a good partner.”
She explained that when someone trusts you with a significant amount of money, you need to go above and beyond to deliver results that impress them.
She found the Spotify deal easier to understand compared to the Amazon deal.
Alex described a very stable income: they were paid regularly each month for doing 52 episodes a year, and the money was guaranteed. Unlike many jobs, there were no performance goals or requirements to meet to receive payment. It was a surprisingly secure arrangement.

Looking back, she’s surprised Spotify offered her a three-year contract. She understood it would be a change for her listeners, who were used to finding her on Apple Podcasts – which had been her most popular platform then.
Alex’s experience at Spotify was positive for everyone involved; she helped increase the number of women listening to podcasts on the platform. This success gave her valuable experience, which proved helpful when negotiating her current deal with SiriusXM.
In 2024, Alex, the founder of the Unwell Network (established in 2023), brought her network to a new platform with a three-year deal valued at $125 million.
After I partnered with Sirius XM, I realized I had many more options for growing my work. While I enjoyed my deal with Spotify, it started to feel restrictive after about three years.

She revealed in June 2025 that she was offered $100,000 by a sex toy company to promote their products, but she declined the offer. The proposed campaign would have involved four social media posts – two on Instagram and TikTok each – plus two segments integrated into her YouTube content.

The popular YouTuber, with more than 430 million subscribers, announced in February 2025 that his net worth had reached one billion dollars, at least on paper.
However, he explained that he mostly doesn’t keep that money for himself.
He shared on the Diary of a CEO podcast that he doesn’t have a million dollars in his bank account, explaining that he prefers to reinvest any earnings he makes.
He surprisingly claimed to be in debt as of January 2026, even though his wealth is estimated at $2.6 billion.
MrBeast explained to the Wall Street Journal that he’s currently using borrowed funds because he doesn’t have much cash on hand. He joked that if you don’t count the value of his company, most people watching his videos actually have more money in the bank than he does – not enough even for a McDonald’s breakfast!

Other times, he’s making bank by offering discounts on his own branded makeup products.
“It’s a niche market but it’s massive,” he added. “We’re the No. 1 or 2 beauty store.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the conversations around content creation and financial independence, and I recently spoke with a model who’s found success on OnlyFans. She shared with me that she’s earning a comfortable income creating content for her subscribers – enough to make a real living, she says. She gained a lot of attention last December for a very public challenge, but she’s now focused on building a sustainable career through the platform.
As for a ballpark figure, she said, “Oh, we’re in the millions.”

Markell, a popular dancer known for his videos, revealed in 2023 that he makes between $500,000 and $700,000 annually. Most of his income comes from sponsorships with brands and from ads shown during his Snapchat videos.

I was so fascinated watching them on Love Is Blind back in 2022! It’s amazing to see how things took off for them after the show. They really became social media stars, and I recently read they both made half a million dollars as influencers in under two years – that’s incredible!

Just like many others, the stars of The Hills used social media to earn income following the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. However, their earnings weren’t as substantial as some believed.

Instead, he revealed he only made $3,500 that week from the 5,000 videos on his TikTok page.

In January 2024, the popular ASMR YouTuber @itsblitzzz revealed she still earns around $56,400 annually from ads on her older videos, even though she hasn’t made any new content.

I just think it’s so inspiring that she’s so open about things like that – it’s amazing!

The comedian revealed to Salary Transparency Street that they typically charge between $5,000 and $10,000 for each sponsored video they create.
