Why Alyson Stoner Won’t Be Returning to Camp Rock 3

Alyson Stoner is always ready to rock. 

Alyson Stoner, known for playing Caitlyn in the *Camp Rock* movies from 2008 and 2010, has shared whether she’ll be involved in a potential *Camp Rock 3*. Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, who were also in the original films, are executive producers on the project.

On September 20th, just three days after the movie was announced, Alyson mentioned at the 2025 Teen Vogue Summit that she hadn’t received any further details, but she thought the news sounded promising.

I’m so excited for the new movie! I have to admit, I haven’t been following every detail of the plot, but I was thrilled to hear that Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas are coming back as Connect 3, even if it’s just for a bit! Apparently, they’re returning to camp to find the next big musical act. I did manage to guess the main idea though – it’s all about a new group of campers competing for a chance to open for a famous brand, which sounds amazing!

I think it might follow a similar path to *High School Musical*, perhaps by introducing a new cast of characters,” the *Cheaper by the Dozen* actor explained. “That’s my guess, but it sounds really good.

Alyson, who founded the mental health company Movement Genius, is very busy, but expressed interest in the film. They jokingly offered to help, saying they’d be happy to work as a set coordinator if needed.

Filming appears to be well underway, as Nick recently revealed he turned 33 on set, celebrating with his brothers and wife, Priyanka Chopra.

Nick Jonas celebrated his birthday on the set of Camp Rock for the third time! He shared photos and videos on Instagram on September 18th, noting he turned 15, 17, and now 33 while filming the movie, calling this year’s celebration the best one yet.

He was Shane Gray for crying out loud! 

The lead singer of the Jonas Brothers starred as the main character in *Camp Rock*, playing a brooding rock star – a role he often playfully references by re-enacting moments from the movie with his fans.

Everyone thought Joe would go solo after the group broke up in 2013, particularly since he’d already released a solo album before they split. However, he actually found fame with his band, DNCE, and their popular song, “Cake By the Ocean.”

Plus there was that whole Jonas Brothers rebirth.

I’ve been following Joe’s relationships for years, and it’s been quite a ride! Before he met Sophie Turner – I remember when they first started dating back in 2016 – he dated both Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid. It was exciting to see things progress with Sophie, and I was thrilled when they announced they were engaged in October 2017.

After the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Joe and Sophie had a secret wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, playfully exchanging ring pops instead of traditional wedding rings. They later celebrated with a more formal wedding in France.

The couple had two daughters, Willa, born in July 2020, and Delphine, who was born two years after. They announced they were separating in 2023.

She told *Harper’s Bazaar* in 2024 that the breakup was really difficult. “We had a wonderful connection, and it hurt a lot,” she explained.

Demi Lovato became well-known playing Mitchie Torres, and then went on to star in her own Disney Channel show, *Sonny With a Chance*, for two years.

Demi launched a successful music career after leaving the network, with popular songs like “Confident,” “Sorry, Not Sorry,” and “Cool for the Summer,” along with seven albums. She also appeared as a judge on *The X Factor* and had guest roles on *Glee* and *Will & Grace*.

Singer Demi Lovato got engaged to actor Max Ehrich in July 2020, but they broke up just two months later. In August 2022, she began dating musician Jutes, and they got married in May 2025.

Demi Lovato has openly discussed her struggles with mental health for the past ten years. In the 2021 documentary series, *Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil*, she detailed her life-threatening drug overdose in 2018.

Though he was the youngest, Nick Jonas started his on-screen career with a supporting role as Nate Gray in two movies. Unlike his brother, Nick continued acting, landing roles in the intense MMA drama *Kingdom* and the TV show *Scream Queens*. He also appeared in the hugely successful 2017 film *Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle* and reprised his role in the 2019 sequel. In 2020, Nick added another role to his resume as a coach on NBC’s *The Voice*.

I’ve been a huge fan of Nick’s since his early days, and I was so thrilled to see him thrive as a solo artist! He’s released two albums that I absolutely love, and I was over the moon when his song “Jealous” climbed into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was amazing to watch him succeed on his own!

As a huge Jonas Brothers fan, I was absolutely thrilled when they announced they were getting back together in 2019, and “Sucker” was just the start! It meant so much to me that, in their documentary *Chasing Happiness*, Nick finally opened up and took responsibility for why they’d broken up five years earlier. It felt really honest and showed how much they’ve grown.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was SO thrilled when he married Priyanka Chopra! It was like, a three-day wedding *extravaganza* in India in December 2018 – seriously, the pictures were breathtaking! And then, in January 2022, they had a little girl, Malti Marie! I’ve been following their journey ever since and they are just the cutest family ever!

The oldest Jonas brother played Jason Gray, a member of the popular band in the movie and a fan of Camp Rock. The brothers later starred in their own Disney Channel show, Jonas, for two seasons, all while continuing to make music together as the Jonas Brothers.

Oh my gosh, when the band went on break in 2010, I was SO worried, but then I found out Kevin was building this amazing life with Danielle! They’re just the cutest, and I was thrilled when they had Alena Rose in 2014, followed by Valentina Angelina in 2016 – two beautiful little girls! I totally binged their *Married to Jonas* series, it was so fun getting a peek into their life. And can we talk about how smart he is? He started JonasWerner, a real estate and construction company, and even became CEO of The Blu Market Company! It was a surprise seeing him pop up on *The Real Housewives of New Jersey* as a contractor, but honestly, it just showed how down-to-earth he is. I’m seriously obsessed with everything he does!

Following early roles in films like *Step Up* and *Cheaper by the Dozen*, as well as appearances on *The Suite Life of Zack & Cody*, Alyson Stoner landed the role of Caitlyn Gellar, an ambitious dancer and producer.

In addition to appearing in two sequels to *Step Up*, Alyson has done voice work for the *Kingdom Hearts* video game series and still voices the character Isabella on the popular Disney animated show *Phineas & Ferb*.

In 2018, Alyson wrote an essay for *Teen Vogue* about falling in love with their female dance teacher. They also released a song called “When It’s Right,” which was inspired by this relationship.

Speaking with TopMob News, they admitted coming out was initially frightening, but ultimately worthwhile. They explained it’s a really exciting period of self-discovery, allowing them to truly be themselves.

In 2019, Alyson showcased a shaved head in their music video, “Stripped Bare,” and later shared their experiences with mental health challenges and recovery from an eating disorder.

As she shared with *People* magazine, “It felt like with every strand of hair that fell, I was letting go of old doubts and worries, and I’m happy to leave them behind.”

Later that year, the group gained major attention at the MTV Video Music Awards with a fantastic performance of “Work It” alongside Missy Elliott. This collaboration was especially notable because they had previously appeared in the music video for the song 17 years earlier.

In August 2025, Alyson released their memoir Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything. 

Following her role as Tess Tyler in *Camp Rock*, Meaghan starred in *Mean Girls 2* and then played Bianca Stratford in the TV series *10 Things I Hate About You*.

Besides appearing on shows like *Jessie, Melissa & Joey* and *House*, Meaghan had a recurring role on MTV’s *Awkward*. In 2019, she also made her first stage appearance in London, performing in *The Actor’s Nightmare*.

Meaghan married British actor Oli Higginson in September 2016.

Fegan started his own record label, Iconomous, and releases music under the name ROSHON.

Besides playing camper Ella Pador, Anna Maria is also remembered for her role as Ashley Dewitt on the popular TV show *Hannah Montana*. After *Hannah Montana* ended, she appeared in guest roles on *Baby Daddy* and the *Charmed* reboot on The CW. She also starred in the 2011 Broadway production of *Godspell*.

In 2019, the former Disney star married Scott Kline Jr., with Uzo Aduba from *Orange Is the New Black* as her maid of honor. They had a daughter, Amelia Grace, in June 2021.

The Canadian rapper and actor, known for playing Barron James, the breakdancer, in both *Camp Rock* films, now works as a songwriter, producer, and choreographer.

Jordan remained friends with Demi, posting a sweet Instagram tribute in December 2019. 

He wrote that he’d known me for over ten years and always considered me a true and loyal friend to both him and his family. He promised he’d always be there for me.

Aaryn, who played singer and dancer Lola Scott in the original *Camp Rock* movie, didn’t appear in the sequel, *Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam*, unlike most of the other actors.

After becoming known for her role in a Disney Channel Original Movie, the Canadian performer continues to act and sing, and also shares content on her own YouTube channel.

As a lifestyle expert, I always keep an eye on rising stars, and Jasmine Richards is definitely one to watch! You might remember her as Peggy from the *Camp Rock* movies – such a fun series! Before that, she was charming audiences on the TV show *Naturally, Sadie*. And she didn’t stop there! Jasmine later showcased her talent in the drama *Bomb Girls*, proving she’s a versatile actress with a lot to offer.

Jasmine married Mike Caci in September 2018, and they had a son, Luke, in September 2021. She works as a content creator and manages social media.

The actor who played Brown Cesario, the camp owner, has since appeared in popular television series including *90210*, *Orphan Black*, *Reign*, *Atlanta*, and *House of the Dragon*. He previously starred alongside Rupert Grint (known from *Harry Potter*) in the *Snatch* TV series, becoming a regular cast member starting in the second season.

Daniel also appeared in Netflix’s 2017 movie A Christmas Prince and 2025’s The Last Supper.

Julie’s Dee La Duke helped mentor the campers as the musical director in both films.

She was a regular on the TV show *The Middle* for multiple seasons. She also appeared in shows like *Coffee House Chronicles* and the 2023 TV movie *Craft Me a Romance*, and she contributed as a writer for the sitcom *Melissa & Joey*.
