Why Amy Schumer Deleted Her Pre-Weight Loss Social Media Photos

Amy Schumeris starting anew.

The actress, known for her role in Snatched, is continuing to prioritize her weight loss and recently shared an updated look at her progress by removing all previous photos from her social media accounts.

Amy, 44, shared a joyful update on Instagram November 11th, posting a photo of herself on her staircase and writing, “I actually left my house tonight. Who’s proud?” She added that she was feeling good and happy, and had impulsively deleted some old photos.

Comedian Amy Schumer is sporting a softer, more natural makeup look this season. In a recent post, she showcased a mini red Valentino dress with black heels and a sleek, straight-parted hairstyle. She shares 6-year-old son Gene Fischer with husband Chris Fischer.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Amy Schumer’s journey, and it’s inspiring to see how open she is! She’s been sharing updates about her health and wellness since 2022, and this isn’t the first time she’s confidently shown off the results of her hard work.

Last month, Amy shared photos of her fitness journey online, including a selfie showing off her toned abs which she later removed. While on a trip to Las Vegas with friends, she also showcased her new look in a black Miu Miu dress, and they complimented her transformation.

Kathy Griffin playfully commented on someone’s legs, saying she was so annoyed she could hardly speak. Director Lee Daniels chimed in, affectionately calling them a “skinnnnnnnny mommmmma.”

Amy Sedaris echoed the supportive sentiment, writing, “You look incredible. Look at those pins!!!”

And Amy appreciated all the love, as she replied, “My legs thank you!”

Amy Schumer is proud of the progress she’s made with her weight loss, but she’s faced some challenges along the way. Earlier this year, she talked about her experience with Ozempic, a medication for type 2 diabetes that can also lead to weight loss by suppressing appetite, and it wasn’t positive.

She described being completely stuck in bed, explaining that she was vomiting and had no energy. She noted that others seemed to handle the same situation much better, saying, ‘Good for them.’

The Fresh Off the Boat alum used to weigh 300 pounds and lost 130, showcasing his journey on TikTok.

Tammy Slaton is known for her role on the TLC show 1,000-Lb. Sisters, but she didn’t want to be defined by it indefinitely.

In an April 2025 episode of her show, the 38-year-old shared that she’s lost 500 pounds, bringing her current weight down to 238. She explained that she once weighed over 700 pounds.

She had weight-loss surgery in 2022, and her doctor believes it was the best decision for her health.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Dr. Smith – the Dr. Eric Smith! – told People magazine in October that Tammy is just… incredible! He said she’s been working SO hard to make real, lasting changes to her lifestyle, everything to help her surgery be its absolute best. He really stressed that it’s all about those little things, those daily choices, to keep her moving forward and make sure she stays healthy for good. Honestly, he said she’s so dedicated to this whole health journey, and it just makes me so happy to see her thriving!

It seems as if every time Jelly Roll hits a red carpet, he’s down a sizable slice of weight.

Singer Jason DeFord, who weighed 540 pounds when he began, shared with Pat McAfee in April 2025 on his live show, Big Night Aht, that he currently weighs 357 pounds. He plans to lose another 100 pounds and celebrate by skydiving with his wife in Sweden!

I’ve been following this artist for a while, and I was really moved by what he shared recently. He’s 6’1″ and openly talked about needing to completely change how he thought about food to achieve his goals. He was on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast in October 2024, and he explained something that really resonated with me: he believes there’s a strong link between obesity and mental health. He admitted it’s easy for people to say ‘just eat less and exercise,’ but he wished he could see food that way – it’s clearly a much more complex issue than simple willpower.

Jelly Roll acknowledged that losing weight was still a major challenge, but he was pleased to see his new, healthier habits were making a difference.

He explained that he’s fully committed to improving himself, focusing on healthy habits like staying hydrated, doing cold plunges, and eating a balanced diet. He feels he’s making good progress.

Al Roker wasn’t kidding around with the title of his cookbook Recipes to Live By.

After losing 100 pounds through dedicated effort, the longtime weather presenter on TODAY consistently prioritizes his health by walking at least 10,000 steps daily, eating a balanced diet, and exercising every day.

“I always say, ‘something is better than nothing,’” he explained in an interview with People magazine in June 2025. “While some people aim for intense fitness like running marathons or weightlifting, most just want to be healthy enough to enjoy life more.”

Al Roker had gastric bypass surgery in 2002 as a starting point for getting in shape, but he admits there’s no easy fix for weight loss.

Surgery is “not the end,” he advised. “You’re still going to have to put in the work.”

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, once famous for his role in the “tush push” play, has recently been gaining attention for his impressive physique.

The former NFL player was always in good shape during his 13 seasons, but he’s lost about 25 pounds since retiring. He recently shared at a golf tournament in Philadelphia that he now weighs around 270 pounds, down from his 295-pound playing weight.

Kelce explained that his goal weight of 250 to 260 pounds is part of his plan for life after football. He told GQ in June 2024 that he wants to stay in good shape and maintain his size without needing to have extremely defined abs. He wants to remain physically imposing even after he retires.

For the father of four daughters, whose wife is Kylie Kelce, being able to keep up with his children was his biggest priority.

At 277 pounds, he said he’s already feeling relief in his back and knees, and hopes losing another 20 pounds will help him play with his children even more easily.

Moving her family from the U.S. to Ireland wasn’t just about a change of location for Rosie O’Donnell; it actually made a difference in her life.

In a TikTok video posted in March 2025, she revealed she’d lost weight, explaining it was a side effect of taking Mounjaro for her diabetes.

The former cohost of View recently went shopping in Dublin for clothes that fit better. She explained, “I’ve always struggled with my weight, and now that I’ve gone down to a large size from an XL or 2XL, it feels amazing.”

In 2022, Jazz Jennings started focusing on her health with a new diet and exercise plan. Two years later, she shared on Instagram that she was finally prioritizing self-care after a long period of neglecting her well-being. She admitted she’d let her eating habits slip, but expressed immense pride in her weight loss and the boost it gave her confidence.

In August 2024, Jazz Jennings, known from the show I Am Jazz, revealed she had lost nearly 100 pounds and expressed how proud she was of her achievement.

It turns out Christopher Schwarzenegger is a chip off the ol’ muscly block.

The youngest child of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver quietly lost 30 pounds, but he’s now returning to a more active life.

He explained at the first Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in May 2025 that achieving results wasn’t quick, and involved a lot of experimentation. He noted that simply cutting out bread had a significant impact, but even now, when he compares old and new photos, he doesn’t feel he’s reached his goal.

Meanwhile, Christopher did not let a certain seven-time Mr. Olympia in on his plan.

Dad Arnold told The Times in June 2025 that he would never directly tell his son he was overweight. Instead, they consistently offered him healthy food options and encouraged gym visits. Eventually, his son independently decided he wanted to get in shape, and he succeeded. Arnold expressed his pride in his son’s self-discipline and motivation, noting he always believed the change would have to come from within – and it did.

Chrissy Metz jokes that she only runs when she has to, but she loves strength training. Working out has been a key part of her 100-pound weight loss journey.

In an April 2025 interview with DailyMail.com, the former This Is Us star explained that her main goal is to age well and stay strong, and that drives all of her choices.

To Metz, aging gracefully means “staying strong and flexible,” so she tries to be active every day.

John Goodman was known for his large size when he played Dan Conner on the show Roseanne in the 1990s – he even joked with David Letterman in 2010 that he once weighed close to 400 pounds. However, by the time The Conners began in 2018, the character, and Goodman himself, had made some healthy changes.

In 2007, Goodman stopped drinking, which marked the beginning of his journey to a healthier lifestyle. He enjoyed staying active through boxing and taking his dogs for walks.

In 2010, he told People magazine that he was working hard to get in shape, exercising six days a week and eliminating sugar from his diet, which helped him lose around 100 pounds. He described it as challenging, but manageable.

Overall, the 6-foot-2 actor has lost about 200 pounds since he was at his peak weight.

In a 2016 interview with ABC News, Goodman explained he reached a point where he was simply exhausted with his own image. He described feeling a strong aversion to even looking at himself – ‘You’re shaving and you don’t want to look at yourself,’ he said – and admitted it became a troubling experience.

Oprah Winfrey has been sharing the highs and lows of her weight loss journey for decades.

Whether it was famously squeezing into skinny jeans and wheeling out 67 pounds of fat on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1988, or investing in WeightWatchers in 2015, Oprah has consistently used her influence to raise awareness about weight and wellness.

Addressing a current topic of discussion, Oprah Winfrey shared in March 2024 during her special program on shame, blame, and weight loss, that she was using medication in addition to eating smaller meals and exercising to manage her weight.

“It’s not just one thing,” she said of her secret to staying fit, “it’s multiple things.”

Winfrey shared that her intention with the special was to reduce the shame and judgment surrounding weight. She wanted to stop people from criticizing others – or themselves – for their weight or choices about weight loss. Ultimately, she hoped to encourage self-acceptance.

Lizzo simply wanted to feel better from head to toe.

In a May 2023 TikTok video, the singer explained that she started exercising not to change her body, but to improve her mental wellbeing. She shared that working out helps her feel better about herself and avoid negative self-image, ultimately shifting her mindset.

In a TikTok video from January 2025, she shared that she was deliberately trying to lose weight, explaining that her aim was simply to improve her overall well-being.

Lizzo explained that even after losing weight, she won’t be considered traditionally ‘thin’ and will likely still be classified as morbidly obese according to BMI. She anticipates some people online will still focus on her size, but ultimately, her happiness is what matters most to her.

Just a moment later, the video cut to Lizzo happily announcing that her body fat percentage had decreased by 16% and her BMI had dropped by 10.5 points.

She finished with a hopeful message: you’re capable of achieving anything you truly focus on. Now, she said, it’s time to start thinking about what’s next and setting some new objectives.
