Andrew Garfield is swinging away from conversations about his dating life.
The actor from After the Hunt, who has been rumored to be dating Monica Barbaro since February, recently shared that he’s become much more private about his personal life and career, particularly when it comes to dating.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Andrew described feeling deeply disturbed by something, saying it felt like an intrusion into his personal life. He admitted he’d hoped those feelings would lessen over time, but was surprised to find they hadn’t.
Despite being seen on a few dates – like at a play in February and leaving an Oscars afterparty – with the actor from A Complete Unknown, he generally avoids talking about his relationships.
Andrew told Esquire last October that he will never discuss his personal life with anyone, refusing to confirm or deny anything about it, ever.
I always loved seeing Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone together! They were so cute, and he was much more open about their relationship than some others. They dated for around four years, from 2011 to 2015, and it was lovely to watch. I remember one interview where he was asked about whether La La Land was based on their romance, and he just playfully said, “I guess people need something to believe,” which I thought was a really sweet way to handle it.
