Madi Prewett is sharing insight into her marriage with Grant Troutt.
A former contestant on The Bachelor, who appeared on Peter Weber’s season, recently shared that she enjoys a relationship where she takes a more submissive role with her husband.
Madi shared on the December 1st episode of the Stay True podcast that embracing a submissive role in her marriage was difficult initially, but she’s come to enjoy it and now loves discussing the topic.
Madi has brought up the idea of embracing a submissive role in her marriage before. She and her husband share a 10-month-old daughter named Hosanna.
In a recent podcast episode from June 2024, Madi shared that her faith calls her to be submissive, respectful, and honorable as a wife. She also emphasized the importance of commitment and maintaining faithfulness within her marriage.
She reasoned, “I’m called to make him, other than God, my greatest priority.”
Madi realized her previous feminist views seemed to go against what she now understood as God’s plan.
Madi shared that she found the peace she’d been looking for when she started trusting her husband’s lead. She realized that trying to control things, constantly pointing out flaws, or even approaching things from a strongly independent perspective hadn’t brought her the security she desired – it was letting go and trusting him that made the difference.
However, Madi admitted that it is still “hard” to follow the standard she has set for herself.
Sometimes people are completely mistaken, she said. And sometimes, frankly, they don’t earn our respect – that’s just a part of life. Everyone makes mistakes, including all of us.

At the end of the day, Madi emphasized that she and Grant are still “partners.”
She continued, explaining that she still has a voice in the relationship. They approach their marriage as partners, making decisions jointly, and she respects her husband’s role as the leader.

Madison Prewett and her husband, Grant Troutt, have announced they plan to use spanking as a form of discipline for their daughter, Hosanna, who was born in January 2025.
In a July 2025 episode of her podcast, Stay True, Madison shared her approach to discipline. While many parents use time-outs, she explained she looks to the Bible for guidance, pointing out that it mentions spanking – specifically, the phrase ‘with a rod.’
The former Bachelor contestant—who appeared on Peter Weber’s season in 2020—was quick to add that any physical discipline would be given with a lot of care and affection.
I’ve always been struck by how gently my mom would explain things, even when I was in trouble. She’d say something like, ‘Sweetheart, do you understand why we’re talking about this? I really don’t want to have to correct you, and it hurts me to have to do this,’ but then she’d always follow up by explaining that actions have consequences, and that’s just a part of life.

In June 2025, Madison publicly shared that she had been battling a pornography addiction since her teenage years, describing it as a struggle with harmful sexual behavior.
She explained on her Stay True podcast that she felt trapped by a particular sin for a long time. Despite her faith in Jesus, she couldn’t overcome it, and it held her captive.
She explained that she would “beat myself up” and often felt “bound by shame.”
After years of hardship, she overcame her addiction. She credits her recovery to her faith and the support of her community, explaining, “I’ve been free from pornography and masturbation for a decade thanks to God and the people around me.”

Madison wasn’t alone in experiencing challenges with her sexuality. Before they started dating and got married in 2022, Grant had also been sexually active.
Madison shared that after losing his virginity, he felt like the experience wasn’t as significant as he’d expected, thinking, “I’ve already done it, so what’s the fuss?”
I’ve been hearing a lot about this, and it seems like a certain individual was really battling some personal issues. Despite everything, he continued to engage in sexual activity with others, which clearly wasn’t helping him overcome those struggles. It’s a tough situation, and it highlights how complicated things can be when someone is dealing with internal conflict.
Grant experienced a significant change after finding faith in Jesus and actively sought guidance and support to help him stay on track.
Madison explained that he actively sought a life focused on moral integrity. He wasn’t flawless and sometimes made mistakes, but he consistently strived for that ideal.

The couple married in 2022, but their first year together wasn’t just about romance—it also involved a dangerous situation.
Madison described on the Stay True podcast in August 2025 how she and her family would consistently experience symptoms like nausea, headaches, and fatigue whenever they were home. They realized something was wrong because their symptoms would quickly disappear as soon as they left the house.
The couple was constantly feeling unwell, so they had a specialist inspect their home. He quickly discovered a methane gas leak stemming from their fireplace. They hadn’t known the fireplace needed to be manually shut off each time they weren’t using it.
Madison admitted they hadn’t switched it off since moving in. It had been running continuously for three months.
Madison and Grant were relieved the methane leak wasn’t more serious, and thankful they hadn’t been using any open flames, which could have resulted in an explosion.
She continued, “And you couldn’t smell the gas either. It was invisible, but it was still harming us, slowly poisoning us.”

Before she met Grant, Madison was a contestant on season 24 of The Bachelor. Although she was the second-place finisher for Peter’s final rose – losing to Hannah Ann Sluss – Madison later shared that she struggled while the show was being filmed.
“It was traumatizing,” she shared on the Unplanned Podcast in August 2025. “ I lost like, 20 pounds.”
And the reality star has had trouble looking back at her time on the series.
To be honest, I’m not even sure I finished watching my season of The Bachelor,” she admitted. “I really distanced myself from the show after that, and I still don’t talk about it much even now.”
