Cardi B explained to Gayle King on CBS Mornings that she wanted to share something when *she* was ready. She emphasized she wasn’t trying to be secretive, but needed to finalize some business matters first. She said, ‘Let me close some deals first, you know what I’m saying?’

Cardi B, 31, who shares 7-year-old Kulture, 4-year-old Wave, and 12-month-old Blossom with her ex-husband, Offset, explained that she wanted to wait until she was further along in her pregnancy before announcing it.

She explained that people usually wait before announcing a pregnancy. They want to see a few more ultrasounds and make sure the baby is healthy first.

Cardi B was prepared to announce her pregnancy to the world, but surprisingly, she hadn’t told her parents yet when she spoke with Gayle King.

“They just be looking at me,” she said. “I’m very scared of my parents.”

Despite the challenges of being pregnant while launching her new album, Am I The Drama?, which comes out September 19th, Cardi and Stefon are excited to start this new phase of their lives together.
