CeeLo Green showed up at the 2026 Grammys sporting bright red contacts.
Does that make him crazy?
It might seem strange, but there was a reason for the 50-year-old’s behavior, especially his initial reluctance to talk about his strikingly red eyes.
When asked about his eyes, he playfully responded to Entertainment Tonight, “Seriously? I was born with them!”
When directly asked about what he would be offering the audience on February 1st at Crypto.com Arena, CeeLo responded with a playful, “Something interesting. Just keeping things interesting.” (You can find photos of the unique fashion choices from the 68th Annual Grammy Awards here.)
It was so lovely seeing CeeLo Green on the red carpet, and even more special that he brought his son, Layke! Layke, who was born Kingston Callaway to CeeLo and Christina Johnson, definitely has his own unique style. He went all out with incredible KISS-inspired makeup! While CeeLo kept things cozy in a red, white, and black sweater, Layke totally coordinated with a bold look – a red mesh top, a furry red vest, black leather pants, and some seriously cool spiked gauntlets. It’s always fun to see parents and kids express themselves through fashion, and they both absolutely nailed it!
Layke is a name that feels intriguing and a bit larger than life, according to the 25-year-old. He says it creates a sense of mystery and makes a person seem almost superhuman.

CeeLo said he loves the Grammys because of the energy, the sense of community, and the recognition it brings. He explained that everyone is there to celebrate what makes them unique.
During tonight’s awards show, CeeLo Green acknowledged hip-hop duo Clipse, who are nominated for Album of the Year with their record Let God Sort Em Out.
Gene Thornton, known as Malice, and his brother Terrence Thornton, also known as Pusha T, received nominations for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Album. It seems CeeLo Green is a fan of their work!
