Doomsday”. This is due to scheduling conflicts as he has a commitment to his TV series “The Terminal List”, which prevents him from joining the Avengers in their upcoming blockbuster. However, according to Jeff Sneider, there’s still a chance that Pratt could rejoin the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) depending on future developments.
To illustrate, Chris Pratt’s character Star-Lord won’t show up in the movie ‘Doomsday’, since the actor is occupied with filming Season 2 of his Amazon series ‘The Terminal List’. This is what Sneider stated when discussing the unclear summer schedules of Marvel actors. He added that if directors Joe and Anthony Russo manage to work around Pratt’s schedule towards the end of shooting, there might be a chance for him to join; however, it depends on several factors. If not, Marvel is ready to move forward without him.
In February, while promoting his film “The Electric State”, Pratt discussed his Marvel future and the hint in “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”. He assured fans that they would keep their promise. Yet, he didn’t confirm whether Star-Lord would show up in “Avengers: Doomsday” or another Marvel production. No cast members from the Guardians of the Galaxy series were announced during the reveal for “Doomsday’s” cast.
Recently, some Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) artwork, possibly related to _Avengers: Doomsday_ or _Secret Wars_, leaked online. In these images, Star-Lord was a recurring figure. One snapshot hinted at an unforeseen friendship between Star-Lord and Vision, while another depicted Star-Lord and Wong having drinks at a bar alongside the Young Avengers team. However, the Russo brothers clarified that this artwork does not originate from _Doomsday_.
It’s been expected that Star-Lord would participate in the battle against Doctor Doom given his prominence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Initially, it seemed possible that he might feature in the film “Doomsday,” but due to Chris Pratt’s schedule conflicts, Marvel opted to change direction. Although Guardians of the Galaxy enthusiasts may be disappointed, they can look forward to an impressive ensemble cast in “Doomsday.” This includes actors from Fox’s X-Men series, as well as those from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Thunderbolts*, and others. With such a promising lineup, even the most dedicated Star-Lord fans might find solace in the upcoming excitement. Moreover, Marvel has hinted that there are additional casting announcements to come.
*Note: Thunderbolts is not yet confirmed as part of the MCU.
It’s uncertain if Chris Pratt will join the cast of “Doomsday” at this late stage, considering he’s been busy filming “The Terminal List.” Since Pratt has worked extensively with the Russo brothers in the MCU, it makes sense that the creative team might have planned around his schedule. However, introducing Star-Lord to “Doomsday” now could potentially overload the movie, as it already has a lot on its plate. It might be more beneficial for them to wait until “Secret Wars” to bring Pratt back into the picture.
