Caution: Reveals from the movie Jurassic World Rebirth may be present. If you haven’t visited Ile Saint-Hubert as of yet, consider yourself forewarned.
As a movie enthusiast, let me tell you all, I believe we collectively hailed one of the most scene-stealing characters on the 2025 film calendar a while ago. The charming Dolores from Jurassic World: Rebirth captured our hearts just as we’d anticipated, and I daresay even those more critical of this sequel would find it hard to disagree. Dolores’ debut at Universal parks was a clear indication of this, with audiences falling for her long before the latest box office success of Jurassic World.
Let me share with you a troubling thought, given what unfolded at the end of Rebirth. It seems she might be in grave danger based on those events. Now, brace yourselves for potential spoilers as I express my worries regarding this Jurassic situation.
Jurassic World Rebirth’s Ending Basically Dooms Dolores To Death
David Koepp’s writings for Jurassic World Rebirth initially aimed to maintain consistency with the established storyline; however, he ultimately chose to drastically reduce the dinosaur population. The Neo-Jurassic era didn’t end dramatically but rather fizzled out, as evidenced by a struggling Brachiosaur in Act I wandering the streets of New York City.
It might be disappointing for those who just watched Jurassic World Dominion on Peacock, as the movie concluded with dinosaurs co-existing with humans. However, the start of Rebirth undermines this concept by leaping forward five years in time.
Could someone possibly perceive Dolores being taken away from the island by the Delgado family as a positive event, given the information presented in the opening title cards and the video displayed at Dr. Henry Loomis’ (Jonathan Bailey) exhibition? It appears that the equatorial tropics are an ideal environment for dinosaurs to thrive, based on our observations.

It appears that the dinosaur’s survival in the new environment, as portrayed in “Rebirth,” may be compromised due to Reuben (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) likely residing on the U.S. mainland and frequent visits to Teresa (Luna Blaise) at NYU in the future. Regrettably, even if the dinosaur manages to endure this transition, it encounters one more obstacle: its fully grown state poses a challenge.
In this film, it seems as if Isabella (Audrina Miranda), the youngest among them, is frequently giving Dolores candy made from processed red licorice, a sweet treat that I’m almost certain neither modern nor prehistoric dinosaurs could digest. Certainly, sugar in this movie appears to be nothing short of diabolical!

Dolores May Have Had A Family On Ile Saint-Hubert
It has been suggested that Dolores is in fact an adult Aquilops, considering that the NBC official description from a Rebirth featurette indicates this species grew to about 2 feet when fully grown. This implies that while we can rule out worried parents searching for their child, one might ponder if there’s a group of young Aquilops who could be scared and on their own, without their mother.
Given Dolores’ carefree nature, it’s possible she didn’t have any family on the tropical paradise of Rebirth, a place from Hell. This might just be my overactive imagination speculating about a charming dinosaur that has won our affection and admiration. To clarify, let’s revisit the official featurette “Meet Dolores” and marvel at the wonder her lifelike puppet inspired in us.
Perhaps in a possible sequel to “Rebirth”, we might explore the storyline where Ms. Dolores seeks to return to her home, or alternatively, the dinosaur DNA stolen by Zora (Scarlett Johansson) and Dr. Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) could be utilized to develop a drug that enables prehistoric creatures to thrive in environments beyond tropical zones.
I’m not questioning out of ill will, but rather due to my worry for this tiny character who seems to overshadow everything else. With such an adorable face, isn’t it natural to be concerned about her welfare? Hints about Dolores’ possible survival might be hidden on Ile Saint-Hubert, and the only way to uncover them is by watching (or rewatching) “Jurassic World: Dominion” – which is now playing in cinemas.
