Elizabeth Olsen had a vision for her future.
Although she did become an actress, like her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, she didn’t want the same level of fame they had as children.
Elizabeth recently told InStyle magazine that she used to dream of being a child actor. However, her ballet teacher didn’t let her perform in The Nutcracker because she hadn’t attended enough rehearsals.

Elizabeth had small appearances in a few of her older sister’s movies, including How the West Was Fun in 1994. However, she didn’t become widely recognized as an actress until 2011, when her film Martha Marcy May Marlene premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
She remembered thinking the excitement over the movie was crazy. It felt like everyone else was caught up in something she just didn’t understand.
The Marvel actress described needing to adjust her understanding of what success meant after being told, “Your life will change dramatically because of this.” She explained she pictured everyone involved as if they were inside a snow globe.

I made some choices and collaborated with people who, looking back, weren’t always the best fit. I didn’t understand then that I could choose who I worked with. At the time, I was just thrilled to be included in any project.
Now that Elizabeth has achieved her career goals, she’s able to keep her personal life private.
She and her husband, Robbie Arnett, actually kept their marriage a secret for two years before announcing it, which led to a lot of news stories about them eloping in private.
“Why is it a ‘secret?’” she laughed to InStyle. “I eloped. You just didn’t know about it.”
Elizabeth joked that she wasn’t intentionally mysterious, explaining she just tends to keep some things to herself, even though she often overshares.
