Why Everyone Is Talking About Taco Bell’s Y2K Menu

Taco Bell is taking you back in time.

The fast food chain is revisiting the flavors of the 2000s by launching a fresh Y2K menu, bringing back five beloved Taco Bell classics: Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, Double Decker Tacos, 7-Layer Burritos, Chili Cheese Burritos, and Caramel Apple Empanadas.

Starting from September 9th, you’ll find our menu items across the entire country! What’s more, all your favorite classic dishes are affordably priced at just $3 or under.

The chain is commemorating 20 years of the Crunchwrap Supreme with the introduction of a new $9 Discovery Luxe Cravings Box. This box contains several popular items, such as the Crunchwrap, Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, a crunchy taco, chips, nacho cheese, and a medium drink.

In this version, I’ve tried to make the language more conversational and easier to read by avoiding jargon like “fan faves” and using simpler phrases like “commemorating” instead of “celebrating.” The meaning remains the same as in your original text.

Not only is Taco Bell embracing the Y2K nostalgia in their food offerings, but they’re also jumping on the trend with three weekly merchandise drops from September 2 to September 16. These limited-edition collections feature a sparkly Ed Hardy hat, a digital watch inspired by the Y2K era, and a retro Y2K t-shirt design.

For individuals who are reminiscent of the Tamagotchi era, Taco Bell brings Crunchkin – a digital pet inspired by their menu, which can be nurtured and fed through their app. As Crunchkin develops, it rewards you with exclusive perks. And the restaurant chain is excited for the retro-themed festivities!

Taco Bell stood out uniquely during the 2000s, according to their Chief Marketing Officer, Taylor Montgomery, who made this statement on August 28th. For years, fans have been yearning for these specific menu items and truthfully, we’ve missed them as well. However, Decades Y2K isn’t solely about the food; it’s also about recapturing the flavors, styles, and excitement that defined that era-and allowing our fans to re-experience it all once more.

Indeed, the fans were undeniably eager to relish their beloved dishes again, a craving that had been dormant for quite some time.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must say that I delight in experiences like the ones shared on X. One individual expressed their joy with, “This brings me great pleasure,” while another excitedly noted, “I can’t wait to camp out for those double-decker tacos!

This dish consisted of a soft flour tortilla wrapped around beef, beans, onions, melted cheddar cheese, and smothered in red sauce. It was a customer favorite for many years, until it was removed entirely from menus in 2013.

The “Black Jack Taco” was a unique, Halloween-themed delicacy, boasting an eerie haze in its photograph. This special taco featured a black tortilla shell, loaded with tender beef, Baja Sauce, crisp lettuce, and a delightful three cheese blend. It made its debut in 2009 and has returned every Halloween since then.

In simpler terms, if a quesadilla were to get married to a burrito, they might choose the hashtag “#quesarito” to represent their joyous union. That’s essentially what Taco Bell has done – they combined elements of Mexican cuisine to create a delightful mix, which they have named a “quesarito.

It contains ground beef, rice, nacho cheese, sour cream, spicy sauce, and crunchy red strips, along with pepper-flavored pieces that resemble Pop Rocks.
