George Clooney is saying goodnight and goodbye to kissing onscreen.

Actor Jay Kelly shared that he’s following the example of a famous Hollywood star as he moves forward with his career, after an honest discussion with his wife, Amal Clooney.

George recently shared that he’s taking a page from Paul Newman’s book. Like Newman, who famously only filmed romantic scenes with his wife, Joanne Woodward, George has decided to stop doing on-screen kissing. He told The Daily Mail that when he turned 60, he discussed this with his wife, explaining that he still felt physically capable – he even plays basketball with men much younger than himself.

The 64-year-old said he’s still fit and active now, but realistically, in 25 years he’ll be 85. He pointed out that no matter how healthy you are, age is something you can’t avoid.

He might be finished with on-screen romance, but he definitely isn’t retiring from acting.

In a recent interview with USA Today on December 2nd, George explained that stopping work can lead to a loss of social standing.

He mentioned they’re casting for ‘Grandpa Gums Bread’ and believes he’d be a great fit. He also noted that this highlights one of the benefits of his chosen career.
