Goldie Hawn’s family dynasty could be gaining a spritely new member.
Goldie Hawn’s partner of many years, Kurt Russell, shared that their granddaughter, 12-year-old Rio Hudson (daughter of Oliver Hudson and Erinn Bartlett), may follow the family into acting.
Kurt Russell recently praised his granddaughter, Rio, for her impressive dancing skills in an interview with his son, Wyatt Russell, for TopMob News. He noted that people often refer to her as ‘Mini Goldie’ due to her talent.
Kurt, who appears with Wyatt in the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (launching February 27th on Apple TV), also pointed out that the young actress’s love of performing came from her mother. He explained that Erinn was an actress when she first met Oliver.
Rio isn’t the only grandchild of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn to pursue acting. Her brothers, Wilder Hudson, 18, and Bodhi Hudson, 15, and cousin Ryder Robinson, 22—Kate Hudson’s oldest son—are already working as actors.
Kurt explained that the family doesn’t feel pressured to continue acting as a strict tradition. He said it’s not something they consciously try to uphold, but many of them are naturally drawn to it. He added, ‘It either appeals to you, or it doesn’t, and that’s true for a lot of us.’

Wyatt, 39, noticed something interesting: his older brother, Boston Russell (Kurt’s son with ex-wife Season Hubley), doesn’t seem to share the family’s passion for acting, despite being surrounded by performers.
He described the 46-year-old as someone who avoids getting involved, playfully suggesting that this lack of enthusiasm would actually make him perfect for the job.
Kurt actually pointed out that Boston’s decision to avoid acting ended up making him the go-to person for family issues, jokingly calling him ‘the family therapist’.
The new series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters starts February 27th on Apple TV+, and new episodes will be released each Friday. Keep reading for more recommendations on what to watch!

I absolutely love watching Tribunal Justice! What really grabs me is the fantastic trio of judges – they’re so engaging as they work through genuinely interesting cases. But the best part? Seeing them debate and disagree with each other! It makes the final decision so much more exciting and unpredictable. It’s a really compelling show because of that back-and-forth.
