Lynsi Snyder is moving in a new place and out of California.
Approximately eight decades following the establishment and initial office setup of In-N-Out by their grandparents in Baldwin Park, California, the fast food chain’s CEO chose to relocate her family to the East Coast and establish a second headquarters for the company in Franklin, Tennessee.
During the July 18th episode of Allie Beth Stuckey’s Relatable podcast, Lyndsi expressed that while California has many wonderful aspects, it can be challenging to raise a family there and also run a business.
Previously, a 43-year-old individual encountered challenges with California’s business laws, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, when their San Francisco branch refused to verify customers’ vaccination status as required by local mandates in 2021, two of its outlets were forced to close temporarily.
She reminisced, “We faced numerous obstacles and hurdles, it was quite distressing. In hindsight, I sometimes wonder if we could have persisted more with certain issues despite the potential legal repercussions.
As a conscientious lifestyle advisor, I firmly believe in treating every individual with respect and understanding. So, let me clarify: we’re not monitoring our customers; instead, we prioritize their well-being as much as ours. Recently, we encountered a temporary shutdown, but I wholeheartedly affirm that it was worth the pause. We can endure a few days of closure if it means maintaining the integrity and values we uphold.
Moving ahead, although most Inburger’s restaurants will remain in California, Snyder – who has twins Ella Martinez and Silas Martinez with ex-husband Richard Martinez, Valentino Torres with ex-husband Val Torres Jr., and Layne Ellingson with husband Sean Ellingson – is excited about expanding the business into a fresh geographical area. Moreover, she is dedicated to ensuring both her workforce and family find this transition as smooth as possible.
She clarified, “We’ve extended the timeframe to make things easier for everyone, allowing them ample time for planning and preparation. We wanted to give them plenty of advance notice because we care about them deeply.
Although some spots will emerge in the Nashville region, Snyder aims to preserve the unique charm that sets this fast-food chain apart. Just as travelers to the West Coast often prioritize trying In-N-Out’s renowned burgers while on vacation.
Lyndsi stressed that Florida has requested it, but we’ve continued to decline. Similarly, the states on the Eastern coast are also not in agreement,” or simply “Florida and other Eastern coastal states have been turned down repeatedly by us.
She stated, “We’re not aiming for a presence in every state, and we’re committed to upholding our values, principles, and the foundations established by my grandparents. In all our decision-making, it’s crucial to always keep these priorities at the heart of what we do.
For more stars that have decided to leave the hustle and bustle of Hollywood behind, keep reading.
The talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres concluded in 2022 following a long 19-season run, amid allegations of a harmful workplace and an internal probe that led to dismissals of several executives and widespread criticism.
In September 2024, Ellen resurfaced with her final standup comedy special titled “For Your Approval” on Netflix. Before the release of this special, she disclosed her intentions to depart from Hollywood entirely.
Quoting a report by SFGate, during her tour named “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up”, she addressed the audience saying, “This is the last time you’re going to see me.” After the release of my Netflix special, I’m finished with Hollywood.
Ellen and her spouse Portia de Rossi have relocated to England, allegedly as a result of Donald Trump’s potential re-election in 2024, based on reports from various sources (the couple haven’t confirmed the reason behind their move).
As an ardent fan, I can’t help but share that one of the compelling reasons Tyra, our beloved ANTM host, decided to migrate to Australia was her passion for her ice cream brand, SMiZE and Dream. In an episode of Today with Jenna & Friends in April 2025, she eloquently explained, “You see, my company has been more B2B, serving on airplanes and cruises. However, I’ve been frequenting Australia quite a bit because we’ve been producing our ice cream there in a massive facility, perfecting the recipes.”
Every time she visited, she fell more and more in love with the place, eventually deciding to call it home. She added, “Did you know that the three countries consuming the most ice cream are America, New Zealand, and Australia? So, it seemed like a natural fit for my business.”
Her family, including her son York (son of Erik Asla) and partner Louis Bélanger-Martin, also found Australia to be a dream come true. Tyra concluded, “Australia has been nothing short of magical for me and my dear ones.
After quite some time since her days on Wisteria Lane as a “Desperate Housewives” star, she’s now living in a new location in reality. Eva expressed her feelings about leaving Los Angeles to Marie Claire in November 2024, mentioning that even before the pandemic, the city was undergoing changes and the vibe was different. The pandemic further accelerated these changes. She stated that factors such as homelessness and taxes made California feel like a chapter of her life that has ended.
For several years, she, her husband José Bastón, and their son Santiago have been splitting their time between Mexico and Spain. Eva acknowledged her privilege to be able to leave and go somewhere, expressing concern for those who are stuck in what she described as a dystopian America. However, she clarified that her decision to move wasn’t due to President Trump’s re-election.
Instead, the reason for her move was primarily due to work commitments, such as her roles in “Land of Women” and “Searching for Mexico.” Since moving, Eva has remained active with projects like “Only Murders in the Building” and “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip.
The actor, who was previously based in Chicago, has announced his family’s move to Madrid, Spain. This decision was influenced by his Spanish wife, Alejandra Silva, and they plan to spend some years there. Their young sons, Alexander and James, are expected to benefit greatly from this move as they are already bilingual, and the new environment will help them thrive further. The whole family appears to be looking forward to this exciting change, as they seem to be enjoying a happy and fulfilling life at present.
From morning till night, the singer resides in Paris. Christina, who is married to Matt Pokora, shared this on a November 2024 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show. “My husband is French, and we’ve been together for over seven or eight years,” she said. “For the past three or four years, we’ve taken turns traveling between the U.S. every six months.” However, they chose to permanently move away from the U.S., so their children—including Violet from her previous marriage with The-Dream, and Isaiah and Kenna from her relationship with Matt—could attend school in France. “They’re all studying in Paris,” she added. “I thought, ‘What a wonderful opportunity for them!'” It seems that life is going well for the family. “My children are content there,” Christina told TopMob in December 2024. “They speak French fluently. We enjoy the park together during the day. I maintain an active lifestyle and work at night because my work schedule is ahead of theirs, providing a nice balance for me.
Lindsay grew tired of false rumors circulating about her departure from Los Angeles. To clarify things, she explained that her busy work schedule and excessive partying during the 2000s were often overshadowed by paparazzi coverage when she was younger.
“I feel that some of my work didn’t get the recognition it deserved due to the attention from the paparazzi,” Lindsay said in an interview with Bustle in March 2024. “It’s annoying, and I wish that part hadn’t happened. It seemed like that aspect of my life took on a life of its own. That’s why I decided to step away from the limelight. I thought, ‘Unless there’s no story here, they won’t focus on just my work.'”
Lindsay eventually moved overseas, first to London and then to Dubai (and even opened beach clubs in Greece). However, there was another reason she chose to live away from the public eye.
The Mean Girls actor mused aloud, “What if I never experience love? What if it never happens to me?” She went on. It was only by focusing on herself that she allowed opportunities to present themselves and affirmative responses to follow – the experiences she longed to be a part of.
Notably, Lindsay eventually found love with Bader Shammas, their marriage taking place in 2022, followed by the birth of their son, Luai, the year after.
Though they reside in Dubai, Lindsay hasn’t completely severed ties with Hollywood. She has continued to act, appearing in films such as Our Little Secret, Irish Wish, and Freakier Friday.
After some introspection, Josh decided to depart from Hollywood. In an interview with People in July 2024, he expressed his feelings about Hollywood as more than just a location – it’s a way of life that can consume you if you let it. He desired something more, explaining that he wanted to surround himself with individuals engaged in various activities that would help him expand beyond his work and foster growth in different areas. In his words, this diversity was the essence of living. Consequently, Josh, along with his wife Tamsin Egerton and their four children, relocated to the Hampshire countryside in England. He explained to The Guardian in July 2024 that time goes by swiftly with a family of four, and even though less seems to be happening on the surface, more of the significant moments are unfolding. Despite his move, Josh has remained active in his career and landed roles in Verity, Fight or Flight, and Trap.
If you haven’t kept up with Jesse’s social media recently, you might not be aware that he no longer resides in Los Angeles.
In February 2025, the star of “A Real Pain” shared with CBS News Sunday Morning that he had lived in Indiana for the past decade, feeling most comfortable there. He expressed his discomfort with an industry that seems unstable to him.
Despite being an Oscar nominee, Jesse leads a relatively normal life with his wife Anna Strout and son Banner. Jesse is not active on social media and doesn’t spend much time speaking with industry contacts, which helps keep his life separate from the ever-changing entertainment world. His wife is a teacher, and their son doesn’t watch many movies, so they don’t constantly evaluate their own status in the industry.
Following roles in shows like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and the 2000s film “Bring It On”, Eliza disclosed in September 2024 that she had earned certification in psychedelic-assisted therapy and was continuing her education to become a mental health specialist.
She shared with Boston Magazine, “I had the opportunity to alter my path and concentrate on healing myself first, in order to help heal others later. It would be unfair not to reveal now the change, the tranquility, and the enthusiasm that I’ve experienced. This is undeniably my true vocation, my genuine purpose.
The actress who played a role in “The Flintstones” shared that she and her youngest son Clay relocated to Ireland in January 2025. She’s also working towards acquiring Irish citizenship because her grandparents hail from there. However, Rosie mentioned the recent political changes as the reason for moving, but she didn’t completely dismiss the possibility of returning to her original home someday.
In a video on TikTok, she expressed her longing: “I miss my other children, my friends, and various aspects of life back home. I’m making an effort to establish a new home here in this lovely country. However, once it is secure for everyone to enjoy equal rights in America, that’s when we might think about returning.
Actress who plays a role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp” revealed her decision to temporarily step away from acting following two decades in the entertainment business.
In June 2024, Evangeline posted on Instagram, “I’m overflowing with happiness and peace today as I follow my dream. I’m incredibly thankful for all the blessings in my life. Choosing a path that may appear unconventional (wealth and fame) can sometimes be frightening, but embracing your purpose brings satisfaction instead of fear.
As a die-hard admirer, I must say that she doesn’t definitively close the door on a potential return to Hollywood. She hints, “There might be a chance I step back into the spotlight of Tinseltown someday, but for now, this is where my heart resides.
Since the conclusion of Netflix’s 2019 series “V-Wars,” an actor previously known from “The Vampire Diaries” has not taken on a new acting role. Instead, he has immersed himself more deeply in a personal endeavor – a mission focused on mitigating climate change through soil enhancement projects.
About four years ago, I took a break from acting to focus on raising my kids with Nikki Reed, growing our businesses, and releasing the documentaries ‘Kiss the Ground’ in 2020 and its sequel ‘Common Ground’, which emphasize the importance of regenerative farming,” Ian explained to TopMob News in November 2023.
In the future, as he gazes ahead, the actor declared, “I see myself as a rancher, creating enduring brand names – be it my bourbon or health and wellness business – and upholding regenerative agriculture and healthy soil management principles that our family has always lived by. That’s the path my life is taking. So when others ask ‘Why are you so invested?’ The answer is simple: Because I am that person, because that’s who I’m destined to become.
In a 2021 episode of her “Empty Inside” podcast, the former iCarly star shared with guest Anna Faris that she stepped away from acting a couple of years ago, and now she’s pursuing ventures in screenwriting, directing, and hosting the podcast.
In her 2022 memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died”, Jennette expressed her regret about her acting roles from the past. She confessed to feeling ashamed and resentful of her career, stating that she felt underwhelmed by the characters she portrayed and thought they were cheesy and embarrassing. From the age of 13 to 21, she was involved in various shows, but even at 15, she felt embarrassed about it. Her peers at that age didn’t react with admiration, instead finding her work on Nickelodeon to be awkward.
Although she hasn’t definitively ruled out a return to acting, her recent comments suggest that writing the book has opened up new possibilities for her to potentially revisit acting in a way that doesn’t burden her with past experiences. She told TopMob News in October 2022 that if she were to write something specifically for herself, it might be one of the few avenues for her to test the waters again.
This seemed like an obvious choice. If we had the chance to marry Prince Harry, devote our life to philanthropic endeavors that are personally significant and gain entry to the Queen’s magnificent collection of tiaras, saying goodbye to Hollywood might not be such a hard decision.
In the footsteps of Grace Kelly, who transitioned from Hollywood to Monaco’s Palace, Meghan Markle relinquished her Toronto residence, along with her prominent role in Suits, for a life within The Firm. However, after Harry and she stepped down from their senior positions and settled in Montecito, Calif., Meghan has been gradually returning to the industry through strategic business decisions such as their multi-year production deal with Netflix.
The Duchess of Sussex debuted her 2022 docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” on Netflix, followed by a 2025 lifestyle show titled “With Love, Meghan“. She’s also ventured into podcasts and launched her own brand, As Ever.
Since her acting debut in “The Mask” back in 1994, she has starred in more than 40 films. After completing filming for “Annie” in 2014, it was finally time for this actress to take a well-deserved rest from making movies.
She shared with her friend Gwyneth Paltrow that she had made a change in her life, seeking different experiences. After pushing herself so intensely for such a long time, working and producing films, she explained how exhausting it was. When filming a movie, the production often demands complete devotion – one is tied to the set for 12 hours a day, month after month, leaving little room for anything else.
As a passionate enthusiast, there’s still so much more I yearn to delve into, such as furthering my writing journey (having followed up my 2013 New York Times best-seller “The Body Book” with the publication of “The Longevity Book” in 2016). Additionally, embarking on a family life with my husband, Benji Madden, has been another captivating chapter. However, as I expressed to InStyle magazine in 2019, “I don’t miss performing. Currently, I’m focusing on the landscape of wellness and all that,” it seems I might be persuaded to make a comeback, at least for one more performance.
In a conversation with TopMob News, Jamie Foxx expressed his fervent request and admiration by saying, “‘Please, could you do it one more time for us?'” when asking Cameron Diaz to star in the 2025 Netflix movie “Back in Action”. He shared his deep affection for her, their long wait for her return, and his anticipation that this collaboration will be simply extraordinary.
After completing his five-year stint on Empire, the actor made it clear that there would be no additional performances. When asked about his future plans before the musical drama series’ sixth and final season in 2019 by Extra, Terrence stated, “I’ve had enough of acting. I’m finished with pretending.
Although he came back for a few film projects, the Academy Award nominee declared his intention to retire from acting during promotional interviews for the Peacock series The Best Man: The Final Chapters in 2022. In his conversation with ET, he said, “I’ve exhausted all my acting abilities; now I’m content watching fresh new talent emerge. I don’t want to keep imitating myself.”
Despite those comments, it’s worth noting that Howard has been featured in additional shows and movies over time. For instance, he was part of the TV series “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” and the Netflix film “Shirley”. Furthermore, there are several upcoming projects on his agenda for the future.
After King Joffrey’s untimely, purple-tinted demise in 2014, the then-21-year-old actor decided to step away from acting. As he shared with EW, he had been involved in acting since age 8. However, he confessed that he was no longer finding it as enjoyable as he once did.
Initially, acting was more of a pastime and a source of joy among my peers and during the summer break. However, as I’ve grown older, it’s become a potential career path. This shift from casual hobby to potential profession has altered my perspective on it. It’s not that I dislike it; it’s just not the direction I wish to pursue.
Following a hiatus of six years, he was prepared to reclaim his position, joining the cast of BBC’s show “Out of Her Mind” in 2020. Since then, Jack has also been seen in films such as “Rebecca’s Boyfriend” and “In the Land of Saints and Sinners,” as well as TV series like “Safe Harbor” and “The Famous Five.
In September 2020, during a virtual table read for “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” Jennifer Aniston married actor Kevin Kline in 1989. They decided to take turns working so they wouldn’t be busy simultaneously, as they wanted to balance their careers with caring for their children, Owen and Greta (now known by her stage name Frankie Cosmos).
In her assigned work hours, Phoebe often decides to spend time with the children instead. Although she appeared briefly in Jennifer Jason Leigh’s 2001 indie film “The Anniversary Party,” Cates primarily focuses on managing her New York City boutique, Blue Tree.
In the peak of his popularity for “Ghostbusters” and “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” the ’80s actor took a break from filmmaking not too long after his wife’s passing due to breast cancer in 1991, choosing instead to dedicate his time to raising his children Rachel and Mitchell.
Despite not appearing in a live-action movie since 1997, even turning down a cameo in Paul Feig’s 2016 Ghostbusters remake, Rick remains an enduring cultural figure. This is demonstrated by the public outcry over reports of him being assaulted while walking in New York City in 2020.
Fortunately, fans have something to look forward to: Rick will reappear on screen alongside Josh Gad in the upcoming Disney remake Shrunk.
After marrying fashion designer Adam Kimmel in 2010, the prominent star of “Never Been Kissed” suggested that she might be moving away from acting. As she put it to Vogue, “Ninety percent of acting roles require a lot of intimate scenes with others, and I don’t feel inclined to participate in that.” She further elaborated, “It’s such an intense element to portray, and our relationship is robust enough to endure it. However, if one is to walk through fire, there must be something extraordinary awaiting on the other side.
Her resolution became firm when son Martin joined sister Louisanna in 2014. In a 2016 event, she expressed to Us Weekly, “I’ve stepped away from the movie world. Now I’m just a mom and an outsider.” She added that she assists Kimmel with his business and paints as a hobby on the side. Her main focus now is her children, which is likely why she decided to quit.
She had previously watched shows like Ally McBeal, Nip/Tuck, Arrested Development, and Scandal. It occurred to her then that perhaps she was prepared for a change.
In 2018, on her self-titled talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, she expressed, “At around 45 years old, I found myself pondering if there was something new and difficult that I could take on. I had a sense of what my acting career might look like for the next decade or two, so I decided to step away from it all and start a business instead.
As a fanatic enthusiast, I’ve been engrossed in the development of my consumer-oriented art enterprise, General Public. With only one last masterpiece remaining, I was poised and ready to bring it to life.
I reached out to Mitch Hurwitz, the mastermind behind ‘Arrested Development’, and expressed my inability to participate if there’s a fifth season due to my decision to quit acting. He appeared very empathetic and fully grasped the situation. We had a wonderful chat, and surprisingly, he included me in five episodes.
After earning three Academy Awards, one might wonder what significant accomplishments remain. Shortly following his sixth Oscar nomination for his final film, “Phantom Thread” in 2017, the actor announced his retirement from acting through a statement from his representatives. The statement conveyed that he is deeply grateful to all his collaborators and audiences over the years. This decision is personal and neither he nor his team will provide any further comment on this matter.
Right when Daniel believed he had stepped away, his son managed to draw him back into the fold. In October 2024, it was revealed that Focus Features would bring Oscar winner Daniel back for the movie titled Anemone, a project penned by his own son, Ronan Day-Lewis, who will also be directing the film.
In 2018, the actress from “Good Luck Charlie” decided to step out of the limelight and instead focus on her academic career. She completed a master’s degree at MIT and subsequently earned a doctorate from the same university. Additionally, she attended Harvard Law School.
Moreover, not only did Bridgit establish her company Northwood Space last year, but it also focuses on constructing ground satellite stations for exchanging data with space. She assumed the role of CEO at Northwood Space in February 2023.
