Jessie J is on the road to recovery.
3 days following the disclosure by the “Masterpiece” vocalist about undergoing surgery for her early-stage breast cancer, she provided an uplifting report regarding her wellbeing.
In a post on her Instagram Stories dated June 26, Jessie said, “Good news: The cancer is completely gone! Now my nipple is back in its original place, and I can enjoy watching ‘Love Island’ without any remorse. These days, I’m getting plenty of rest and have more time than ever to catch up with friends.
Later on, the 37-year-old explained more about her comment, mentioning that she’s yet to receive the test results confirming that she is no longer dealing with cancer.
She clarified, “I’ve been receiving many messages expressing joy that the cancer seems to be gone.” To set the record straight, I included a ‘fingers crossed’ emoji because it represents hope, not certainty. I’ve only had my surgery four days ago. I was merely discussing the benefits of the surgery and this situation while staying optimistic. My test results are forthcoming, and I eagerly anticipate being able to confirm that as a fact. For now, however, I can only speculate. I will maintain a positive outlook and continue to express my thoughts into the universe.
Certainly, the “Price Tag” actress shared insights about the care she’s been receiving during her recovery from surgery. She values her friendships, enjoys engaging with villa drama, and finds solace in connecting with others going through similar experiences. Moreover, she is surrounded by her most loyal supporters: her dear ones.
Jessie mentioned that her mother, Rose Cornish, has recently joined her living arrangement, which also includes her boyfriend Channan Safir Colman and their two-year-old son Sky Safir. Regarding her partner of five years, she gave him high praise for making her feel secure and providing numerous massages.
However, alongside the joyous peaks, there have been valleys too, and this Grammy-nominated artist elaborated on those challenges.
In my own words, as someone committed to this journey, I’ve had to accept that I’m not the mom I was accustomed to being and I can’t pick up Sky as frequently as before. Recovery has forced me to stay put for longer than I’m comfortable with. The uncertainty of whether the cancer is completely gone weighs heavily on my mind. The pain and discomfort are tolerable, but frustrating when they disturb my sleep.
Later on, she playfully disclosed that she’s been experiencing constipation due to the anesthesia and painkillers she received, and she’s eager for any advice to help alleviate her discomfort.
On previous occasions too, The Voice UK’s star has addressed her health issues with a touch of humor. Notably, she cracked a few jokes when revealing her breast cancer diagnosis earlier in the current month.
In her June 3 Instagram post, she expressed that cancer, no matter its form, is unpleasant, but she clings to the term ‘early.’ She humorously added, “It’s quite a theatrical method for getting a breast augmentation.” She mentioned that after the Summertime Ball, she would need to take a break for her surgery and return with larger breasts and more music.
But despite her comedic take, her diagnosis has taught her an important lesson.
Jessie shared on her Instagram story that the sequence of events has been both chaotic and breathtakingly beautiful, providing her with an extraordinary viewpoint during this period. However, she confessed it’s a lot for her to handle emotionally, and she needs to discuss it further. She also yearned for comfort, stating that you have always stood by her through every up and down in life. She doesn’t want this experience to be any exception.
