Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have personalized their kids’ movie watch list.
The couple from Counting On have chosen not to let their three children—Felicity, 7, Evangeline, 5, and 7-month-old Finn—watch some Disney movies because of their religious beliefs.
Jinger, 31, discussed on her podcast how she and her husband have been considering how Christians should approach spiritual matters. She explained that many Christians believe bad things will happen to them without warning, a fear she grew up with. She even shared that there’s one Disney princess movie she won’t allow her children to watch.
It took a moment, but after mentioning the character’s famous green dress, she finally recalled the movie’s title: The Princess and the Frog.
I saw part of it once, and it talked about Voodoo, which made me decide I didn’t want my kids to watch it. I don’t believe it’s accurate, and I don’t want them to think those ideas are okay.
Jill Duggar, author of Growing Up Duggar, isn’t strongly against the magical elements in classic Disney films. She considers them generally harmless, but she and her husband, Jeremy, still like to watch and be aware of what’s happening in the story.
Jeremy explained that his wife sometimes gets overwhelmed, recalling how she’ll say things like, ‘This is just too much,’ even when talking about other princesses. He also mentioned she occasionally wonders if there’s a hidden influence at play, like when discussing Mickey Mouse.
As for the kids programs that have received the Duggar stamp of approval?
Jinger recently discovered the show Franklin and says her kids are really enjoying it, even though it’s an older program. She also likes Curious George and prefers slower-paced, classic movies—including older Disney films—and enjoys letting her children watch them.

Restricting movies is just one of the challenges Jinger Vuolo, formerly of 19 Kids and Counting, faces as a mother. She’s also considering whether to switch her son Finn from breast milk to formula, as he’s developed an allergy to soy.
She explained to her husband on their podcast that the pediatrician suggested either eliminating dairy and soy from their baby’s diet or switching to formula. She admitted she wasn’t sure she had the energy to try eliminating foods to see if it would help, so she was leaning towards using formula, even though it was a difficult decision for her.
Keep reading for a closer look into the Duggar family tree…

This couple, who first fell in love in high school, are now parents to nineteen children and grandparents to more than thirty-six grandchildren.
I remember Michelle telling her story about finding faith when she was fifteen. It was amazing! Apparently, Jim Bob from her church was going door-to-door, trying to connect with people. A friend mentioned this girl from school – Michelle – who’d just been ‘saved’ and was also a cheerleader, and said she lived with her family. That’s how Jim Bob ended up at their door that night!
I first met Jim Bob when his family invited me to Sunday school at their church. He actually told me later that he prayed for us to become each other’s spiritual leaders, though I honestly don’t remember much from that initial meeting! About a year later, I applied for a job at his parents’ frozen yogurt shop, and that’s where things really started. I remember walking up to the counter where he was working, and he was so shy but incredibly sweet! He finally worked up the courage to ask me to the junior-senior banquet, and the rest, as they say, is history. I wrote that down in a letter for his birthday and our 33rd anniversary back in 2017 – it’s a memory I cherish!
They first met at a dinner held at Shiloh Christian, but it was a long conversation about the Bible at her parents’ home afterward that really solidified their connection. Michelle later shared that’s when they truly felt a bond forming. They graduated high school in May 1984 and were married just two months later in July. Michelle was 17 at the time, and Jim Bob was 19.

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob previously served as a state representative for Arkansas’s sixth district from 1999 to 2002, where he was vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate in 2002 and later sought the Republican nomination for the Arkansas State Senate in District 35 in 2006, but was not selected.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, both licensed real estate agents, are known for their involvement in conservative activism. This aspect of their lives made them both strong supporters and vocal critics of the reality TV show 19 Kids and Counting (originally titled 17 Kids and Counting when it began in 2008).
As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

As a lifestyle commentator, I’ve followed the Duggar family for years. Josh, the oldest child, born on March 3, 1988, also became involved in conservative activism. He actively campaigned with organizations like the Family Research Council, advocating for their values.
Josh Duggar resigned after police records from 2015 came to light, detailing accusations that he had sexually abused several girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill, while he was a teenager. In a June interview with Fox News, Jessa defended her brother, claiming the accusations were exaggerated and untrue. She stated that, as one of the victims, she knew the claims were false, even if others disagreed.

His wife, Anna Duggar, whom he married on September 26, 2008, in a ceremony shown on the show 19 Kids and Counting, remained supportive, even after he confessed to infidelity.
In 2016, when he began treatment, his parents described it as an important start to his recovery.
Parents of three—daughter Mackynzie (Oct. 8, 2009) and sons Michael (June 15, 2011) and Marcus (June 2, 2013)—when the scandal broke, Anna gave birth to their fourth child, Meredith, on July 16, 2015, the same day TLC canceled 19 Kids. Their fifth child, son Mason Garett, was born Sept. 12, 2017, daughter Maryella Hope arrived Nov. 27, 2019 and baby No. 7, Madyson Lily, was born Oct. 23, 2021.
In April 2021, Josh was indicted by a federal court on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. He initially pleaded not guilty to both charges. However, in 2022, he was convicted on both counts, though the judge later dismissed the possession charge. He received a sentence of 12.5 years in prison.

Soon after Josh arrived, Michelle became pregnant again, but sadly, she lost the baby. While they were still sad about this loss and seeking direction, they were overjoyed to discover they were expecting twins.
It felt like a wonderful gift from God, a real encouragement to us,” she explained. “We’re still figuring things out as we go. It’s quite unique – I nurse my babies, but they’re born very close together. I have a baby, and then I’m pregnant again just eight months later. It’s another unexpected blessing in our family’s journey.
John David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

John David and Abbie-Grace Burnett married on November 3, 2018, after a quick romance and engagement. They had known each other for a few years before meeting at a church event in Oklahoma, where Abbie is from.
They welcomed daughter Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.
Okay, so it was January 2020, their 30th birthday, and Jana wrote the sweetest thing about John and me. People always asked if we had that ‘twin thing,’ you know, that weird connection where you just feel what the other person is feeling or know what they’re thinking. John and I always said no, we didn’t have it. But then little Gracie was born, and Jana said she honestly felt all the happiness John did! She said that meant the ‘twin thing’ was actually real! It was just… everything. I swear, I nearly cried reading it. It’s like she finally understood our connection through Gracie!
Jana said it was lovely seeing them and Abbie as parents, adding that they were natural at it. She also pointed out that the qualities that made him a great brother would definitely make him a wonderful father.

As a bit of a late bloomer myself, I can definitely relate to Jana Duggar’s journey! It’s amazing to think that 11 of her 18 siblings found their partners before she met Stephen Wissmann – and it’s even more interesting that Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah! While she’s admitted it wasn’t always easy waiting for her turn, Jana truly believes everything happens according to God’s timing, and I admire that perspective. It just goes to show you, love arrives when it’s meant to, and sometimes family connections come full circle in the sweetest ways.
Jana explained to People magazine that she’s marrying later in life because she trusts that God has a plan for everyone. ‘We all have unique journeys,’ she said, ‘and it would be pretty dull if we were all the same!’ Her wedding is scheduled for August 15, 2024.
Just over a year later, the couple shared that they’re expecting their first baby.

Jill Dillard (born May 17, 1991) found love in a way similar to her parents. She first met her future husband, Derick, during a Christmas caroling event in December 2011 when his church group visited the Duggar family home. He grew up about 45 minutes away.
Jim Bob brought Jill and Derick together, and they quickly connected through email and video calls. That November, Jill and her father visited Derick in Nepal, and their relationship blossomed. In February 2014, Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage, and they were married on June 21, 2014. They now have three sons: Israel, born April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.
In April 2024, Jill announced she and Derick had experienced a miscarriage while expecting their first daughter.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick Duggar discussed the controversies and religious beliefs connected to their family.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.
Jessa and Ben met at church, and he began courting her in 2013. This traditional way of getting to know someone was new to many viewers. Because the couple didn’t discuss their relationship before getting engaged, Jim Bob explained to People magazine that courting involves getting to know each other with both families involved, and setting goals together to see if they’re a good match for marriage. He contrasted this with dating, where couples often spend time alone, which can sometimes lead to physical intimacy.
Ben asked Jessa’s parents for permission to marry her, and then proposed in August 2014—it was the first time they’d ever held hands! They quickly married on November 1, 2014. While Jessa was pregnant with their first child, their show 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. TLC then aired a special featuring Jessa and her sister Jill discussing sexual abuse to raise awareness among viewers. That winter, the sisters starred in their own show, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which later became Counting On and included more of the Duggar family.
Jessa and Ben have four children: Spurgeon, born in November 2015; Henry, born in February 2017; Ivy Jane, born in May 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. They sadly experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays, but welcomed their fifth child, George, in December 2023.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.
Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing ministry work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5, 2016 – the same day as Jinger’s nephew Spurgeon’s birthday, which is a bit tricky when you come from a very large family of nineteen children! Almost immediately after the wedding, people started speculating that they were expecting a baby.
In June 2017, on the show Counting On, Jinger shared that she and her family hoped to be settled and continuing their ministry work in Laredo, serving God in whatever way they could.
Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo welcomed their first daughter, Felicity, on July 19, 2018. They had previously shared that they experienced a miscarriage in the fall of 2017. Their second daughter, Evangeline Jo, arrived in November 2020.
Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Let me tell you about Joseph Duggar! Born on January 20th, 1995, he’s a sweetheart. He and Kendra actually met through church, and he’s clearly a romantic – he proposed to her at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding back in May of 2017! It wasn’t long after they started courting, which just goes to show you when you know, you know!
Joseph admitted he was nervous when he proposed, but he felt confident she would say yes, recalling her telling him, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’ Kendra shared her reaction, saying, ‘I’m so happy and so shocked—I have so much I want to say, but I’m still in shock!’
The couple has welcomed three children: Garrett, born in June 2018, Addison, born in November 2019, and Brooklyn, born in February 2021.

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
After dating Lauren publicly for a few months, he announced they were engaged in March 2018. He shared that he proposed to her in the same location where her parents got engaged, explaining that the property held a lot of family history and was therefore meaningful to Lauren.
Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared in a video on the family’s blog how much they adore her, calling her a ‘precious girl.’ Jessa and Ben also congratulated the couple and offered them chocolate candies shaped like hearts and kisses. Michelle jokingly said, ‘I’m guessing you want to save your first kiss for the wedding,’ and then held up the chocolates as a fun consolation prize if they visited.
Josiah previously dated Marjorie Jackson, but they ended their relationship in the summer of 2015. He told People magazine in March 2016 that they had enjoyed their time together and were trying to discern what God wanted for them. Ultimately, Marjorie didn’t feel the timing was right, so they decided to take a break.
He and Lauren got married on June 30, 2018, and described their wedding day as “absolutely perfect” in an interview with People magazine. They became parents to a daughter, Bella Milagro, on November 8, 2019. They chose the name, which means “miracle baby,” after Lauren experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. The couple expanded their family with another daughter, Daisy, in 2022, and a son named Ezra in May 2023.

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had been friends for 15 years before they began dating. They quickly fell in love, with Austin proposing in February 2017 and the couple marrying just a few months later on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas – the same wedding where Joseph Duggar proposed to Kendra Caldwell!

Joy-Anna and Austin are parents to three children: Gideon Martin Forsyth, born February 23, 2018; Evelyn Mae Forsyth, born August 21, 2020; and Gunner James Forsyth, born May 17, 2023.

Jed and Jeremiah Duggar, the second set of twins born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, arrived on December 30, 1998.

Jed and Katey Nakatsu got married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I was SO excited when Jed and Katey announced they were expecting twins in July 2024! And then, January 8th, 2025… it finally happened! They welcomed the most precious little girls, Elsie Kate and Emma Kate! I seriously can’t even handle the cuteness!

Jeremiah is a certified flight instructor and is married to Hannah Wissmann, who is the sister of Stephen (Jana’s husband). They have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.
They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.
In January 2017, the Daily Mail reported that Jim Bob helped Jase purchase a run-down house in Prairie Grove, Arkansas—about half an hour from the Duggar family’s property—and Jase later started his own construction business.
He publicly revealed his relationship with Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024, and they got married in October of the same year.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.
Okay, so he’s totally single right now, doesn’t seem to be looking for anyone, but honestly? He’s amazing with kids! He has, like, a million nieces and nephews, and he absolutely adores them. It’s the cutest thing ever, and it just proves what a big heart he has. Seriously, it makes me melt!
Mom Michelle described James as the ‘fun uncle’ – someone all the younger boys admire and want to emulate! On his 19th birthday in 2019, she wrote about his knack for figuring things out. Even when he was little, he loved taking apart appliances and, after understanding how they worked, putting them back together – often with his own improvements!
James put in a lot of effort this year and earned his commercial driver’s license! He’s now skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment, and we’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him.

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.
He began dating Claire Spivey in September 2020, and they announced their engagement the following November. They were married on February 26, 2021.

Jackson Duggar, the fifteenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle, was born on May 23, 2004. He’s pictured here with his older sister, Jill.

On Jackson’s sixteenth birthday, his mom, Michelle, complimented his funny personality and said she knew he was eager to get his driver’s license.

Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in the original special called 16 Kids and Moving In.
On her daughter’s fifteenth birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote about how much joy the girl brought to everyone. She described her as friendly and sociable, always eager to meet new people. Michelle also shared how much her younger sisters looked up to her, and expressed her gratitude for being chosen as her mother.

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.
Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
Oh my gosh, Jennifer is just… amazing! Seriously, she’s the most dependable, loyal person you’ll ever meet, and she’s SO much fun! I remember seeing Michelle’s post when Jennifer turned 13, and it was so her. All the little cousins absolutely adore her – she’s constantly got one clinging to her because they never want to be put down! And animals? She’s a total sweetheart with them. She’s so responsible, making sure her pets are loved and cared for every single day. I was so impressed when I heard she even helped raise a whole litter of seven bunnies! It just proves how incredibly kind and caring she is.

Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

In 2019, Jordyn-Grace’s mom described her as a friendly and sociable person who easily connects with others. She also noted that Jordyn-Grace’s laughter always brightens their day.

Let me tell you a little about Josie Duggar. She’s number 19 in her family, and she had a really tough start to life. She was born on December 10th, 2009, about three months early, and was incredibly tiny – just one pound, six ounces! She spent six months in the NICU, getting the care she needed. It’s amazing to see how far she’s come, and here she is, lovingly holding her niece, Meredith!

Michelle described her daughter Josie as incredibly energetic when writing a birthday message for her 11th birthday in 2020. She noted that Josie is constantly on the go, from morning until bedtime.
