Khloe Kardashian is in awe of Tristan Thompson’s sibling.

Certainly, reality TV personality Kim Kardashian discussed her close relationship with basketball player’s younger brother Amari Thompson, 18, and explained why she took on the role as his guardian following the passing of their mother Andrea Thompson.

In the July 30 episode of her “Khloe in Wonder Land” podcast, Khloe mentioned that she developed a strong friendship with Tristan’s mom, Andrea. I was quite close to her and provided medical assistance for their child, Amari. She often had questions or needed recommendations for specific doctors, and I was able to assist in those areas.

Indeed, the 41-year-old woman, who has children True, 7, and Tatum, 3, with Tristan, openly disclosed that she was actively participating in all of Amari’s medical check-ups. Amari, unfortunately, is battling a severe form of epilepsy known as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS). In Khloe’s own words, Andrea served as Amari’s only caregiver when they resided in Canada, and she felt compelled to offer every possible resource for support.

After Andrea’s sudden heart attack death in January 2023, the dynamics within the Thompson family changed significantly. Eight months later, Tristan was given temporary custody of his younger brother, enabling him to relocate Amari to California. Given that the professional athlete (from the Cleveland Cavaliers) frequently travels for work, he and Khloe recognized the need for Amari to have a stable living situation.

She stated that the frequent travel isn’t suitable for Amari because he experiences several seizures daily.

In simpler terms, Khloe mentioned that Amari resides with her in Los Angeles, and she’s decided to look after him. She also shared that Amari has not one but two wonderful caregivers whom she adores deeply.

She went on to say, “I’m still part of this family that I’ve been with for so long, and have built such strong bonds with. My bond with Andrea is completely separate from my connection with Tristan. My loyalty to her isn’t tied to Tristan in any way.

Instead, she aspires to give the teenager an exceptional, stunning life, and she’s been fulfilling this promise for the past two years. This was evident when she organized his 18th birthday celebration in April.

In that particular episode of the Kardashians, Khloe expressed her feelings by saying, “When you encounter someone truly exceptional, and then something unimaginably tragic happens to them, you naturally want to assist.” She went on to mention that her children, including her mother, Kris Jenner, have formed a strong bond with Amari. “You yearn to alleviate the situation and be present as much as possible,” she added. “I believe my mom shares this sentiment. She has such a profound attachment towards Amari.
