Why Khloe Kardashian Slapped Tristan Thompson After Romantic Gesture

Not even Cupid could’ve helped Tristan Thompson with his romantic gesture for Khloe Kardashian.

Khloé Kardashian remembered when her then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, unexpectedly had R&B singer Giveon perform for her. While Khloé enjoyed the performance, she was still upset with Tristan due to his past cheating, as they were having an on-again, off-again relationship at the time.

Khloe recalled being surprised with a serenade ‘years ago,’ before her son Tatum was born. She mentioned it happened on an ordinary day, when she was only a mom to her daughter, True. She shared the story on a Valentine’s Day episode of her podcast, Khloe in Wonder Land, on February 11th.

Khloe explained she felt uneasy while Giveon performed for her, after Tristan, 34, asked her to step outside.

She explained that Giveon had changed a lot and was simply performing. She recalled a time when she strongly disliked Tristan and questioned his actions, while Giveon continued to sing with deep emotion. During that same moment, Tristan kept trying to get close to her, and she was pushing him away. She described the whole situation as incredibly embarrassing.

Khloe was so uncomfortable with her ex’s elaborate attempt to win her back that she jokingly asked their daughter to lighten the mood.

Honestly, I was completely blown away by his singing – I just really loved him! I actually ran inside to grab True because I desperately needed someone else to be around, just to get away from Tristan. I was so frustrated with him at the time.

Even though she was really upset at the moment, Khloe now looks back on the surprise with humor. She recalls Giveon joking, “Remember when I said if I could perform live while you two were arguing, anything could happen?” She still laughs about it to this day.

She praised Giveon, saying he was very professional and performed flawlessly. She felt bad for him being in an awkward situation, adding, ‘I love you, Giveon!’

I was really sad when Tristan and Khloe finally broke up for good in late 2021. It was a tough time because, while they were trying to welcome their son Tatum via surrogate, it came out that Tristan had also had a son, Theo, now four years old, with Maralee Nichols. It just seemed like too much for them to overcome, and honestly, it broke my heart to see it end.

Even though Khloe was hurt by her ex’s past behavior, they’ve managed to maintain a positive co-parenting relationship. They even live near each other so Tristan can be actively involved in the lives of both of their children, including his son Prince Oliver, age 9, with his former partner Jordan Craig.

Khloe recently explained that people often ask her how she allowed Tristan to return to her life. She clarified that he isn’t ‘back’ with her romantically, but as the father of her children, he’ll always be present, and she appreciates that.

She said she admires how close he is with his children. She wants to support that bond and believes it’s crucial for them to have a strong relationship.
