As a lifestyle expert, I’ve learned that families often navigate difficult times with a desire for privacy. That’s exactly what Connor’s mom, Lise Smith, shared with me – their decision to keep a recent moment private was very intentional. They both felt it was a personal experience best kept within their family.
Lise explained on her podcast, Talk to Me Sis, that the decision came about because they wanted to be genuine and share what really happened. However, she felt the situation was personal and didn’t need to be public.
Lise said Connor, who was 27 at the time, ended the relationship. This happened in July 2025, shortly after he and Georgie returned from a trip to London.
The trip, featured on the fourth season of the popular Netflix show, helped Connor realize he and Georgie, 24, weren’t compatible. Lise explained that the distance between them and their different views on what they wanted in a relationship contributed to the split.
Okay, so Lise totally gets it. It’s obvious he’s looking for something real with Georgie, and that trip to England? It just made everything so clear! You could see where Georgie is at in her life, and where Connor is too. They definitely had a connection, like, a spark, but Connor wanted more – he wanted to be close, hold hands, maybe even be more than just friends. And honestly? I don’t think Georgie was ready for that level of intimacy. It’s like they were on different pages, and it breaks my heart a little, but Lise explained it perfectly!
Lise pointed out that the trip was the longest amount of time Connor and Georgie had spent together since they started dating. She explained that during the trip, Connor realized Georgie was a wonderful person, but they weren’t a romantic match for each other.
Since Georgie didn’t expect Connor to break up with him, he and his mother decided it would be most considerate to handle the split privately, away from cameras.
Lise wasn’t sure Georgie expected things to end the way they did. She didn’t believe Georgie wanted to split up, and she wasn’t certain what happened. She acted out of respect for Georgie’s feelings, but also because she wanted to support her son and honor what he was going through.
She said she appreciates Connor’s genuine and honest nature, and that he didn’t want to involve someone in a difficult situation. She explained that making the decision was hard for him and caused him a lot of hurt.
The show’s director and producer, Cian O’Clery, agreed completely. Lise recalled him saying he’d give the actors whatever room they needed to portray Georgie and Connor with respect.
You know, even though things didn’t work out romantically, I’ve learned it’s so important to maintain positive relationships. In this case, despite going their separate ways, there’s absolutely no bad blood between them – they still stay connected, which is wonderful to see! It just goes to show you can care for someone even if you’re not together.
“They text,” she said. “They wish nothing but the best for each other.”
Connor, who recently left the show after appearing for two seasons, is now concentrating on what comes next. He’s looking forward to finding a relationship when he’s ready and continuing to work in the entertainment business.
I was so relieved to hear from him! He shared that he’s definitely not leaving acting, especially voice acting, which is fantastic. He’s always loved animation, and he really wants to be part of a TV show, which I think he’d be amazing in. It’s great to know he’s still pursuing his passion!
