Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey are blind to one part of reality TV production.
The hosts of *Love Is Blind*, who have been married for 14 years, recently shared that they’re no longer present when couples from the show first meet in person after getting to know each other in the pods.
As Vanessa explained in a recent video with *Parade*, they were all present at the premieres. When the cast would walk the red carpet, she, Nick, the hair and makeup team, the costume designers, and the audio crew would all be there, waiting for them.
She realized the large crew – around 50 people, she guessed – created too many distractions for the contestants when they were trying to have their key moments.
It became overwhelming how excited everyone got,” Vanessa said, mimicking the crew’s hushed warnings whenever a newly engaged couple arrived. “They’d go, ‘Shh!’
The 44-year-old revealed that she and Nick haven’t been allowed to watch the show’s reveals ever since the very first episode.
She explained that organizers then decided to limit the reveal to just the couple and the cameras, wanting to make it a private moment for them.
Nick joked that it’s been eight seasons since they’ve seen a reveal happen live, adding with a laugh, “We’ve been unofficially banned from the set – just kidding, of course!”
The couple, who have three children – Camden, 13, Brooklyn, 10, and Phoenix, 8 – also get to witness many important events while filming *Love Is Blind*.
Vanessa shared that something completely new happened on the show while they were filming season nine, which is set in Denver and launched on Netflix on October 1st.
She hinted to TopMob News before the new episodes came out that something unprecedented would occur in Denver during filming of *Love is Blind*.
