Fans of Rob Kardashian have something to celebrate! Even though he hasn’t been on Keeping Up With the Kardashians for about ten years, there’s been some positive news regarding the reality TV star.
He’s potentially ready to take on another role in the family business.
He made a brief appearance on The Kardashians last year, showing up in both the first and last episodes of season seven. When his sister and close friend, Khloé Kardashian, told him in a recorded phone call that fans were excited to see him in the show’s trailer, he playfully dismissed the idea, saying, “They are not fangirling.”
But if he’s what the fans want…
Rob Kardashian expressed his hope to appear on the eighth season of the show, which stars his sister Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and their mother, Kris Jenner. He confirmed he’s eager to participate in filming the next season.
And Kim, for one, is confident that he’ll do amazing, sweetie.
She explained that he’s very open to dating when he’s feeling up to it and in the right mindset, as she shared during an October interview on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy with Andy Cohen.
You know, Rob is a really fun guy, and I genuinely enjoy him. He’s the dad to Dream, who’s nine, and things with Blac Chyna have obviously been complicated. But honestly, it just seemed like he wasn’t motivated to work. As I see it, he’s been choosing to take things easy for a while now, and that’s been the biggest issue.
But now all signs point to break time being over for Rob, who marked his 39th birthday March 17.
Kim explained to Andy that they need to respect anyone who doesn’t want to participate. Everyone has different aspirations, and that’s okay. Andy initially had reservations, but he’s since changed his mind and is now willing to be involved.
And his hiatus certainly had nothing to do with some elaborate family feud.
Rob assured Khloé in a July podcast episode that there were no issues between them, explaining that his decision not to film had everything to do with his own personal feelings. He simply wasn’t comfortable being on camera and opening up when he wasn’t feeling good about himself. He didn’t want to be vulnerable and let people see him when he wasn’t ready.
Rather, the main component of his, uh, dreamy existence is being a dad.
Being a dad has really changed my perspective,” Rob shared on Khloé in Wonder Land. “It’s made me more stable and helped me prioritize what’s important – my daughter, without a doubt. That’s just where my focus needs to be now.
And he’s fine with that. Bible.
“I feel really fortunate,” Rob went on. “Dream is a natural – she’s bright and well-behaved – but it’s still a challenge.”
He’s happy with their current relationship and isn’t interested in adding anyone else. He’s casually talking to people, but not pursuing anything serious – and he’s definitely not getting back together with Chyna, even though they exchanged some playful messages on Instagram last fall.
Rob explained to Khloé that he makes a point of setting a good example for his daughter. He avoids bringing any girls into his home and doesn’t allow his daughter to meet them, something he’s consistently done since she was a baby.
He admitted to having dated in the past nine years, but emphasized he’s never wanted a serious relationship. He’s fully focused on his work with Dream.
Even though Rob hadn’t spoken to his fans in a while, Khloé understands his reasons for staying quiet.
My brother is a bit of a mystery, always keeping to himself,” she shared on her podcast in April 2025. “I joke that he’s like the Wizard from The Wizard of Oz – he prefers to stay behind the scenes. It’s funny because we actually live right next door to each other in a gated community.
And while Rob might not make it into every family photo, he’s definitely in the picture.
I love all my brothers and sisters, but I especially connect with Rob,” Khloé Kardashian told Bustle in December 2024. “I really feel what he’s going through—whether it’s dealing with challenges, wanting privacy, or feeling like he doesn’t belong and is being criticized for how he looks.
Growing up with six siblings felt like we were naturally divided into pairs,” she explained. “It was always Kourtney with Kim, then me and Rob, and finally Kendall and Kylie. I feel a strong, instinctive need to protect him, and I love him dearly.
Of course she’s not the only one with those unconditional feelings.
In a 2025 birthday post, Kris Jenner wrote that her child is one of the greatest joys of her life and expressed gratitude to God for allowing her to be their mother.
Rob Kardashian and his ex-fiancée, Blac Chyna, have put their past disagreements behind them. Chyna shared in January 2025 that they now have a positive and healthy relationship as they co-parent their child.
Viewers of The Kardashians might get to see this peaceful resolution happen on the show soon.
Khloé has been optimistic since 2023, repeatedly saying she believes he’ll return to the show. Now, Rob is hinting that the discussion isn’t over, suggesting a possible comeback is still on the table.
Kris Jenner recently revealed they are currently filming season 28 of their show. Considering the 20 seasons they did for Keeping Up with the Kardashians, plus the new seasons, she said the very first season was the best, and she feels the one they’re filming now is equally great. She considers everything in between a wonderful bonus.
