Spotted: Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively‘s son wreaking a little havoc.
Ryan Reynolds, known for playing Deadpool, shared that raising his 2-year-old son, Olin, has been more difficult than raising his three daughters: James, 10, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6.
Ryan jokingly said on *Late Night With Seth Meyers* on October 9th, “It’s so easy with three girls… and then the boy comes along and breaks everything!”
He continued, “I’m, like, in direct competition with this young man.”
Ryan Reynolds jokingly admitted that he wasn’t sure he’d have wanted another child if things had been different.
Ryan stated he would absolutely not want to have three sons. He jokingly said he’d get a vasectomy to prevent it, emphasizing how strongly he feels that way.
Indeed, the 48-year-old has previously gotten candid about how much he loves being a girl dad.
Ryan shared in 2020 that having three daughters was something he never expected. Growing up as the youngest of four boys with three older brothers, he finds being a dad to three girls to be a wonderful experience, and he cherishes every moment.
Raising daughters isn’t always easy, though. As Ryan explained in a 2021 interview on *This Morning*, they can be incredibly complex – ‘like little Rubik’s Cubes that you can never figure out!’
Even though raising four children can be challenging, the Marvel actor feels he and Blake are succeeding as parents.
In December 2024, Ryan told *The Hollywood Reporter* that he believes his children are developing a good understanding of the world and a strong sense of empathy. He said that their ability to connect with and understand others is a key indicator of successful parenting.
