Why Sienna Miller’s new thriller drama War is “dastardly” according to co-star

Sienna Miller and Dominic West will star in the upcoming Sky legal thriller, ‘War’. Actress Nina Sosanya recently hinted at what viewers can anticipate from the series, following confirmation of the lead cast last summer.

At Sky’s Up Next event, Sosanya told TopMob and other media that the new series will be quick-moving, visually polished, and focused on a complex storyline, describing it as somewhat mischievous.

I heard from Sosanya that the show is genuinely funny! Apparently, it centers around a super public, messy divorce, and it’s all about how these two rival law firms try to maintain a perfect image while secretly hiding what’s really going on. Sounds juicy, right?

She explained that her character, Beatrice Ubosi, is a senior partner at a traditional law firm. Everyone calls her ‘Her Majesty’ – a nickname reflecting her strong personality and the fact that she’s very much in charge.

“She is arched. She has a team who are clever and not above doing things in an underhand way.”

Let me tell you, “War” is shaping up to have a fantastic cast! Alongside the already announced Miller, West, and Sosanya, we’ve now learned Phoebe Fox, who you might recognize from “Task,” James McArdle – a standout in “Playing Nice” – Pip Torrens of “The Crown,” and Archie Renaux, soon to be seen in “Alien: Romulus,” are all joining the series. And the best part? It’s already been renewed for two seasons, which tells you how much faith the network has in this project. I’m definitely adding this one to my watchlist!

The series ‘War’ centers on a high-stakes divorce battle between two top London law firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne. Both firms are confident they’ll win this landmark case, but as the legal fight intensifies and alliances shift, the lawyers risk their careers and reputations in a ruthless competition.

Season one’s dramatic case is only the first of many – expect a series of legal stories ripped from the headlines.

George Kay, the writer behind ‘Hijack’, created the series. When it was first announced, he shared his enthusiasm about collaborating with Sky and HBO – both known for supporting daring and innovative stories – and the talented team involved.

War is a captivating legal drama packed with unexpected turns, scandalous secrets, and plenty of betrayal. It’s the show that actually inspired me to become a TV writer.

War will debut on Sky and NOW in the UK – sign up for Sky TV.
