Why T.J. Holmes Credits Amy Robach’s Daughter for Their Milestone

As a seasoned observer of celebrity dynamics, I must say, the journey of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes has been nothing short of captivating. Their story is a testament to resilience, not just in the face of public scrutiny, but also in the crucible of personal growth and self-discovery.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have advanced their relationship further, yet this progression wasn’t initiated by them on their own accord.

Previously known as the co-hosts of GMA 3, this real-life couple opened up about recent events in their lives during their Amy & T.J. podcast, discussing among other things, the circumstances that led them to share a living space.

T.J. mentioned on the September 30th show that he and Robach have been residing together permanently for the past two weeks, but it wasn’t a decision they made willingly.

47-year-old individual acknowledged that moving in with Ava, her 21-year-old daughter from her former marriage to Tim McIntosh, was beneficial for their living situation.

In the heart of New York City, the pair who call it their home have dwellings that are conveniently close enough for a leisurely stroll. However, a recent change has occurred as Amy, aged 51, is now residing permanently at T.J.’s residence.

Amy shared that her daughter, Ava, lives in a building within The Village. Unfortunately, it seems the place is plagued with a significant number of cockroaches.

Amy mentioned that there’s a “compulsive acquirer” living in the flat beside hers, and she pointed out that Ava often comes back to discover cockroaches scattered throughout her place, even in her bedsheets.

As T.J. explained it, “Armies of roaches making their way from his apartment to hers.”

As soon as Ava spotted cockroaches entering via her air conditioner, she concluded that it was necessary for her to leave the premises.

Amy stated, “They are moving into a new place in a different part of the building to avoid this hoarder. Right now though, there are people staying with me in my apartment. So I’ve told them, ‘Feel free to make yourselves comfortable. I’ll be at T.J.’s.’

Amy, who happens to be the mother of 18-year-old Annalise, mentioned that Ava plans to relocate from her current apartment this coming weekend.

T.J. remarked that his girlfriend’s actions towards their kids were heartwarming, and he was thrilled to assist them. He admitted he’d enjoyed spending time with her, though it had been an unusual experience, he found it pleasing.

Amy agreed, saying, “It’s been great.”

However, there’s one living condition that the couple can’t seem to agree on.

“It’s too damn cold at night,” T.J. insisted. “That’s an issue.”

Amy noted, “That’s always been our issue. I like things cooler, you like things warmer.”

Following her appointment at the ABC morning show in 2012, Amy Robach stepped up to host the time slot following Good Morning America, as the Pandemic: What You Need to Know series transitioned into GMA3: What You Need to Know.

T.J. Holmes, who joined ABC News in 2014 and quickly developed a close friendship with Robach, was later appointed as her co-host.

As a lifestyle authority, let me express that your query couldn’t have come from a more fitting source. Over the past five years, I’ve been eagerly brainstorming potential collaborations with someone just like you!

Holmes remarked, “I feel as if he’s my sibling. We seem to complete each other’s thoughts. Our connection is remarkable. It’s a delight to experience such trust once more. Not everyone shares this bond on set, but I know that whatever I do or say, he stands by me, and I do the same for him. That’s what truly matters.

Moreover, Robach mentioned that she and her spouse, Andrew Shue, frequently enjoyed going out on double dates together with Holmes and his wife, Marilee Fiebig.

Robach, Shue, and Holmes participated in the United New York City Half Marathon, with Holmes revealing later on GMA3 that his fellow anchor encouraged him to join.

I could see the sheer joy in your victory, my friend,” I gleefully admitted as you crossed the finish line before me. “Your grin was as radiant as ever. And let me not forget to mention, TJ managed to outpace me this time around.

Holmes modestly concurred.

“We were running together,” he said. “And I ended up a second ahead, officially.”

Instead, during their New York City Marathon run, neither Holmes nor Robach had Shue accompanying them.

Later on, Robach disclosed that although her and Shue were already apart at that point, she hadn’t made their separation public knowledge yet. However, it wasn’t like she was intentionally keeping the fact hidden.

She clarified on her podcast, Amy and T.J., that it was an open secret among our close group that I was going through a divorce. I removed my wedding ring in early August, making it evident to anyone familiar with me that I was in the midst of a divorce. T.J. is more reserved than I am and opted to maintain privacy regarding this matter.

Initially, the news anchors unwittingly transitioned into being the focus of the story themselves when the Daily Mail released photographs and video clips capturing them appearing affectionate on multiple occasions, such as a dinner in New York City and a trip to Upstate New York. The snaps were taken during times when it appeared they were still married to their respective spouses.

Immediately following the public revelation of their rumored relationship, the anchors on GMA3 temporarily disabled their individual Instagram accounts. Additionally, Shue erased all pictures of Robach from his personal Instagram feed.

Upon their return to work on December 1st, it’s said that Robach and Holmes appeared together, exhibiting a strong resemblance of a romantic pair.

And the following day, the GMA3 hosts alluded to the drama that was percolating behind the scenes.

During the broadcast, Holmes remarked with a hint of regret, “I wish it wasn’t Friday,” because this week has been fantastic and he wanted it to continue indefinitely.

Ultimately, their relationship-induced break came about as they were temporarily suspended for further examination into their romantic involvement, during which time their status remained on hold.

In a memo sent to staff on December 12th, ABC News President Kim Godwin expressed her understanding that the ongoing coverage might sometimes divert attention from the crucial tasks our team undertakes. She mentioned that for now, there is a rotation of anchors at GMA3.

Godwin added, “I truly hope we’ll keep honing our skills in areas where we excel. Please understand, I’m incredibly proud of the effort and dedication each one of you has shown.

Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig after nearly 13 years of marriage.

The couple, parents of a 10-year-old girl named Sabine, had quietly gone their separate ways, according to Holmes’ statement. He explained that he didn’t immediately announce his relationship with Robach because he was still dealing with the complexities of his separation within his family, taking things one step at a time.

In the first episode of the Amy & T.J. podcast, Holmes clarified that his daughter, who is ten years old, was finding it difficult to adapt to the new situation following their separation.

Holmes admitted that he had not yet informed his mother about his separation from Fiebig, prior to the public disclosure of his relationship with Robach.

He wondered, “Why would I bring this up to the executive and the team?” Instead, they might have said, “That was the thought process at the time. Looking back now, it seems like a mistake.

In October 2023, Holmes and Fiebig, who criticized her former partner’s lack of tactfulness in his new relationship, officially ended their marriage.

ABC News confirmed that Robach and Holmes had exited the company in a Jan. 27 statement.

Following some fruitful discussions with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes regarding various possibilities, it was decided by all parties that it would be in everyone’s best interest for them to depart from ABC News. We appreciate their skills and dedication throughout the years and are grateful for their efforts. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses simpler and more conversational language.)

Prior to making their relationship official, the couple was frequently spotted together during the holiday season. For instance, they were both noticed at the Atlanta airport, where Holmes was seen embracing Amy while helping them carry their luggage. Additionally, they appeared to solidify their romance with a passionate kiss in Miami over New Year’s Eve.

Separated since the previous summer, Robach and Shue’s divorce was finalized.

In February 2010, they tied the knot, marking the second marriage for both Robach and the former Melrose Place star.

From 1996 to 2008, Robach was wedded to Tim McIntosh, and together they have daughters named Ava and Analise. On the other hand, Shue had sons named Nate, Aidan, and Wyatt with his former spouse Jennifer Hageney. In 2021, they collaborated on a children’s book titled Better Together!, which discusses their experiences of blending their families.

Approximately a year into their relationship becoming public knowledge, they ultimately decided to confirm it on Instagram.

On October 23rd, Holmes shared multiple pictures showing him and Robach in a comfortable setting at a University of Arkansas Razorbacks game while he was revisiting his old university.

In addition, Robach posted pictures from their outing on her Instagram account, which included a snapshot of the reserved seating signs.

“Hog for a night,” the University of Georgia alum captioned the post. “Dawg for life “#truelove.”

At Jingle Ball 2023, Amy Robach and Andrew Holmes marked the festive season by making their first public appearance together on the red carpet, signifying their relationship status.

At the concert, Robach opted for a sleek black leather mini dress without straps, whereas Holmes chose a classy black velvet tuxedo sans tie. Not holding back their affection, they enthusiastically displayed public displays of affection during photo ops. To top it off, Robach even posted a video where Holmes humorously placed a plush toy on her own torso, prompting a cheerful laugh from her.

Four days prior to the debut of their fresh iHeartRadio podcast, “Amy & T.J”, they celebrated a lively evening together.

In the first episode of their new podcast, titled “Amy & T.J.“, Robach and Holmes decided to speak up for the first time on the controversy, revealing personal aspects of their relationship.

As for the rumors swirling around us, let me set the record straight: It was our relationship that was exposed to the public eye, not an affair or infidelity as many assumed. Here’s the twist – on the very day those photos were snapped and the article dropped, we had already initiated divorce proceedings from our respective partners.

Additionally, the pair shared insights into how the controversy affected them personally. Robach spoke about a time when she urgently went to Holmes’ residence following a worrying text he sent, expressing he didn’t feel like getting out of bed. This sentiment resonated with her since she too had experienced similar feelings.

She shared, “Who’s in my corner now? Who stands by me? Will I work again? Can I regain trust? Is the truth about what happened going to be believed over rumors?” were some of the questions she grappled with. However, she expressed her gratitude for having each other during those challenging times.

It emerged on the same day that both ex-spouses started a new podcast, various sources confirmed that Shue and Fiebig have been dating instead.
