Why Timothée Chalamet Got a Warning From Marty Supreme Actor on Set

Timothée Chalamet isn’t letting this on-set experience be a complete unknown.

The actor shared a funny story about filming Marty Supreme. He tried to provoke another actor, who was playing a background role, into having a real argument for a scene, but it ended up being an awkward moment.

Timothée Chalamet shared that he enjoyed working with several non-actors during a particular motel scene in the film. He mentioned this during a January 14th event with Robert Downey Jr. in New York City, according to People magazine, but added that it sometimes took several tries to get the performance he was looking for from them.

He explained that he was intentionally trying to provoke the other actor, getting very close and attempting to make him upset. Eventually, he had to point out to director Josh Safdie that the background actor simply wasn’t reacting with anger, repeating, ‘He’s not getting angry with me.’

The 30-year-old actor, recognized with both a Critics Choice Award and a Golden Globe in 2026, finally delivered a powerful and captivating performance.

I did another take of the scene, and then the actor told me he’d just spent thirty years in prison. He warned me, saying I really didn’t want to make him angry or face his wrath. I turned to Josh and said, ‘Wow, who is this guy?’

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what happened with Timothée! He was totally trying to rile up the other actor because his character, Marty Mauser, had the worst luck. Apparently, Marty was taking a bath in his hotel room – even though they specifically warned him not to! – and the floor just… gave way! He fell right through and landed on a dog, and even worse, on the arm of its owner, who happened to be a gangster! It was so chaotic and hilarious, and honestly, perfect for the scene. I’ve watched it like, a million times.

The background actor wasn’t the only one who stood out during filming. Josh also asked Robert Pattinson, known for his role in the Safdie brothers’ film Good Time, to make a quick appearance in the British Open semifinals scene.

Josh let slip during a recent interview with Variety that Robert Pattinson is secretly the voice behind the commentator and umpire in an unnamed project. He described it as a hidden surprise, something fans haven’t discovered yet.

Josh joked that when a man came to observe their game, he realized he didn’t know anyone from Britain. He then added, ‘So, we asked him to be the umpire.’

In June 2024, athlete Jason Kelce jokingly tweeted, “What kind of weirdo washes their feet…?” after a fan commented that he appeared to not wash his legs or feet.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles player later doubled down on his comments.

On his podcast, New Heights with his brother Travis Kelce, he jokingly asked, “What kind of person washes someone else’s feet?” He then added that he would only scrub them if he could see dirt.

More than ten years after actor Kristen Stewart shared a story about witnessing a clown’s death in a car explosion at the circus when he was a child, he confessed that the story was fabricated.

Robert remembered telling The New York Times Style Magazine in December 2024 that he reacted with complete surprise. He said he immediately asked, “What on earth? Are you possessed?”

As for what he said during the 2011 Today interview promoting his film Water for Elephants?

He explained that one of the clowns had died in an accident. Their small car, part of the act, unexpectedly exploded, causing panic and fear among everyone present.

Grandma knows best.

In an October 2022 episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian shared a personal story about how her grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell, unexpectedly played a role in a private moment with her then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson.

Kim Kardashian told MJ, Kris Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian that she and Pete Davidson were at the Beverly Hills Hotel last weekend. They were chatting by the fireplace for hours, and she remembered something her grandmother told her: that having sex in front of a fireplace is a way to truly enjoy life. So, she and Pete acted on that advice as a tribute to her grandmother.

Grandma’s reaction? A nod of approval.

Kim jokingly remarked, “It’s weird to think about your grandma right before being intimate!” MJ responded with a laugh, “I know, but everyone has a past!”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have a very close family – including their children, 8-year-old Wyatt and 6-year-old Dimitri – and their love for each other is incredibly strong and unconditional.

So much so, that the Black Swan actress revealed they keep an open-door policy at home.

As a family, we’ve really embraced a relaxed attitude about, well, everything that happens in the bathroom – and honestly, everywhere else! It’s just become totally normal for us to talk about bodily functions openly with the kids. It’s not always pretty, but it’s just part of our everyday life, for better or worse, as I shared with TopMob News last year.

Honestly, it was a bit much! My family just kept showing up and asking to come in, and after a while, I just gave up and let them. I basically thought, ‘You know what? Just leave the door open,’ and let them all in.

Pre-kids, she might not have imagined she’d flush that particular boundary away.

She said she never imagined she’d become someone comfortable enough to use the restroom with the door open.

Ghouls just want to have fun.

During an October 2022 episode of The View, while discussing a woman who claimed her home was haunted by “sexual ghosts,” Sara Haines posed a surprising question to the panel: “Is it possible to get pregnant from a ghost?”

Luckily, Joy Behar, her co-host, had a humorous response, joking, “I’ve had encounters with ghosts and never gotten pregnant.”

“I’m going to leave that statement as is,” Whoopi Goldberg responded. “I’m not sure everyone heard what Joy said, but I’m not going to comment on it further.”

Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb are very close friends, but Hoda recently learned something surprising about her “Today” co-host. While preparing for an episode of “Today with Hoda and Jenna,” Hoda found out that Jenna always goes without underwear.

Hoda Kotb shared a funny story from a November 2022 episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna. She explained that they both needed to quickly change outfits, and while heading back to the dressing room, she realized Jenna Bush Hager doesn’t wear underwear.

Jenna’s rationale? Well, no underwear might just be more convenient to her.

She explained that the outfit creates a more flattering shape and is also easier to pack. She added that there are many other benefits, too!

Looks like someone hasn’t been keeping up.

Britney Spears related to a popular line from Keke Palmer – “He could be walking down the street, I wouldn’t know a thing” – and confessed she wasn’t familiar with Pete Davidson or Scott Disick.

Britney shared a funny video from March showing Pete Davidson—who was dating Kim Kardashian at the time—and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, Scott Disick, having a night out. She said the video had her laughing a lot.

Britney apologized for sharing a video, explaining she didn’t know the people in it, but it had made her laugh a lot.

Before Chris Evans became famous as Captain America and was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2022, Jana Kramer dated him and thought he was a really cute heartthrob.

The singer shared on her podcast, Whine Down with Jana Kramer, that this happened over ten years ago. While she doesn’t remember exactly how many times they went out, she does clearly remember the last time they saw each other.

Jana, who was around 26 at the time, said Chris asked her to come over when he had some friends visiting from Boston.

Jana recalled that the last thing she remembered was her partner going to the bathroom right after she’d eaten asparagus, which changes the smell of your urine. They didn’t end up intimate that night; he stayed up late with friends, and the next morning, Jana felt embarrassed leaving his house – what she jokingly called the ‘asparagus walk of shame’.

She added, “I never heard from him again.”

Not all of these confessions are amusing.

In December, television writer Elisabeth Finch confessed that she had fabricated a story about having a rare form of bone cancer. She had originally shared this false diagnosis with ELLE magazine eight years prior, and it even became the basis for a plotline on the TV show Grey’s Anatomy.

Elisabeth recently revealed to The Ankler newsletter that a lie she told at age 34 was the biggest regret of her life. She explained that the lie grew over time and became a heavy burden she kept hidden. She also clarified that she has never been diagnosed with cancer.

Finch, who was temporarily removed from his role on the ABC medical show before ultimately quitting, admitted, “I messed up badly. It was completely unacceptable. I really screwed things up—there’s no other way to put it.”

Beauty is pain, but Kim Kardashian might be able to stomach it.

The reality star told The New York Times she’d consider almost any procedure to look younger, joking that she was open to trying everything.

She admitted in June that she’d consider doing almost anything for younger-looking skin, even something as unpleasant as eating waste. She stated she might actually do it.

In an interview with Allure in July 2022, Kim admitted she was mostly joking when she made the comment, but she didn’t think it was a bad idea.

Kim thought for a moment and then said, ‘Honestly, I’d probably eat something awful if someone promised it would make me look younger—even if it meant eating a bowl of poop every day.’

Oh my gosh, when they asked her how much she could possibly eat, she was SO cute! She said, ‘Maybe just a bite,’ and then, like, immediately added, ‘I don’t think I can do a whole bowl!’ It was the most adorable thing ever, honestly. You could just tell she was trying to be polite but also, like, realistically assessing her capacity for deliciousness. I’m obsessed!

Jelly Roll could’ve used some saving from himself.

During an April 2025 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer behind “Save Me” shared a particularly embarrassing story, and he didn’t hesitate to tell all the details.

“I pooped myself one time,” he admitted. “I did, I’m sorry.”

To be honest, Jelly Roll (whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord) didn’t intend to cause such serious harm.

He firmly believed it was just a misunderstanding. “I sincerely apologize,” he said. “I saw the audience quickly turn from supportive to completely against me.”
