Good news for fans who missed seeing Wicked: For Good in theaters, or who want to watch it again! The official release date for streaming and digital purchase has now been announced.
The movie version of the second half of the popular musical Wicked will be available to rent or buy online starting Friday, January 2nd, 2026 – a great way for fans to start the new year!
The movie will be available in two versions, including a special sing-along edition for fans. Plus, you’ll get over an hour of extra content to enjoy.
The bonus features include six deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, a profile of director Jon M. Chu, and detailed explorations of the two new songs, “More Than Just a Place” and “The Girl in the Bubble.”

The Blu-ray will include a behind-the-scenes look at filming the movie’s climax at Kiamo Ko, plus a commentary track by the director, Chu.
The two ‘Wicked’ movies both feature Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, and Michelle Yeoh, and both have been popular with both audiences and critics. However, the second film didn’t perform quite as well as the first, seeing a slight decrease in both ticket sales and positive reviews.
News broke earlier in November that Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey are expected to work together again in 2027. They’re reportedly going to co-star in a West End production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical, Sunday in the Park With George.
