As a seasoned movie buff with a penchant for historical dramas and a soft spot for British productions, I must say that Jonathan Bailey‘s versatility is nothing short of remarkable. From the elegant drawing rooms of Bridgerton to the enchanted land of Oz in Wicked, and then back to the thrilling Jurassic World, his range is truly awe-inspiring.
Given his busy schedule with upcoming roles in high-profile films such as Wicked and Jurassic World: Dominion, one might assume that Jonathan Bailey would be too occupied for Netflix’s Bridgerton.
Nonetheless, the actor who plays Anthony Bridgerton has dispelled any uncertainties regarding his participation in season four, expressing that being part of the show is “a wonderful experience”.
On Late Night With Seth Meyers, Bailey confirmed that Bridgerton viewers will find him featured in the upcoming fourth season, as the filming for it is already progressing.
When Meyers inquired whether Bridgerton ever becomes tiresome, Bailey replied, “Not at all. Actually, it evolves each year, or every couple of years.
It’s truly wonderful to be involved. There’s plenty of room for more participants, and I believe Luke and Yerin will do an excellent job. I’ll definitely drop by to say hi again in the future.
I, Bailey, am thrilled to share that my next appearance on the big screen will be alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in Wicked Part One. Yet, the limelight isn’t just reserved for 2021; I’m eagerly looking forward to reemerging in 2025 with the release of Jurassic World Rebirth as well!
In a new movie of Jurassic World, he’ll be sharing the screen with Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali. The sequel to Wicked is scheduled to hit theaters towards the end of 2025 as well.
Despite speculation, Bailey’s popular character in Bridgerton isn’t saying goodbye for now, a relief to fans following the departures of leading actors Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page from season one.
Bailey recently expressed something similar during his interview on Good Morning America, mentioning that he’s scheduled a few weeks to return for Bridgerton season 4 and is eager to read the upcoming scripts.
He added: “Obviously being the older brother, I’m going to be there to support the youngsters as we go.”
In the near future, Netflix might not release the fourth season of “Bridgerton” right away, however, the storyline will center around Benedict, portrayed by Luke Thompson, who is also the main character in the third Bridgerton book titled “An Offer from a Gentleman.
Previously, it was revealed that Yerin Ha would be portraying Sophie Baek, Benedict’s love interest, for the fourth season. The streaming platform hinted: “Although his elder and younger brothers are happily married, Benedict remains reluctant to commit – until he encounters a mesmerizing lady at his mother’s masquerade ball.
However, it appears that the upcoming season of the show won’t be available for a while, as showrunner Jess Brownell shared with The Hollywood Reporter: “We are striving to release seasons more swiftly, but remember, it takes about eight months to film them, followed by editing and dubbing into various languages.
Additionally, composing also requires considerable time, thus we’re essentially moving at a two-year rate. We’re striving to accelerate, though we’re currently operating within a certain range.
Currently, you can stream Bridgerton seasons 1-3 on Netflix. If you’d prefer to read the books, they are available for purchase on Amazon.
