Kristin Chenoweth is not that girl to hold a grudge.
The actress, known for her role in Wicked, dismissed rumors of a feud with her co-star Idina Menzel. She explained that the talk started because they had become very close, almost like family, while creating their roles as Glinda and Elphaba in the 2003 Broadway show.
Kristin explained to The Hollywood Reporter that because her and the other person had such different work styles, it’s no surprise people were talking. She added that only the two of them truly understand the challenges they faced to reach their final result.
Honestly, the connection we share is just… everything. We’d truly do anything for each other, and it feels like a sisterhood. And let’s be real, sisters aren’t always perfect, right? That’s what it is – a family, and that’s the best way I can explain how close we are.
Kristin, who previously lost to Idina Menzel for Best Lead Actress in a Musical at the 2004 Tony Awards, has often described her time performing in the stage production of Wicked as feeling like being part of a close-knit “family.”
She admitted in an October 2023 interview with Vulture that she probably annoyed her sister sometimes. ‘I’m sure I did,’ she said, adding, ‘I often get on my own nerves! But we understand each other in a way nobody else can – we know what the other is going through.’
Kristin was already coping with the emotional stress of her mother’s cancer diagnosis and performing in the musical, and both she and Idina were incredibly tired after working on the show for more than three years. Despite everything, they always found comfort in singing the moving final duet, “For Good.”

Idina Menzel shared with Vulture that no matter what personal challenges they were facing, it was comforting to always have that connection with her co-star at the end of each performance. They’d often exchange a look that meant, ‘I support you, you support me, and we’re creating something special together with love and mutual respect.’
She explained that while others were talking, they focused on each other, because their relationship was what truly mattered.
Kristin and Idina managed to stay out of public disagreements, but here’s a look at celebrities who haven’t been so lucky and have had very public feuds.

In January 2024, Bobby (second from left in the picture) spoke about rumors of a disagreement with Tan (in the middle). This came two months after Bobby announced he was leaving Queer Eye after being on the show for eight seasons.
He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t related to a romantic relationship. He wanted to make that clear.
In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately got it because they were the most qualified. I also want to be clear that I didn’t help them get the part by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained in an Instagram post.

After years of speculation about a conflict between them, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty’s former co-star on Charmed, revealed on her December 2023 podcast, Let’s Be Clear, that Alyssa Milano supposedly gave a show producer an ultimatum: choose between her and Shannen. This, Combs claims, led to Shannen leaving the series in 2001.
In a February 2024 Instagram post, Alyssa stated she couldn’t get anyone fired and claimed that stories circulating about past events were simply inaccurate retellings of things that happened a long time ago.
Shannen recently stated at a MegaCon Orlando panel that she stands by the truth as she remembers it, and that no one is trying to rewrite the past.
Shannen passed away in July 2024 after a yearslong battle with cancer.

Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot of celebrity interactions, I was pretty surprised by what Sharon Osbourne shared recently! Back in September 2023, while having some fun with her daughter Kelly on TopMob News playing a game, Sharon revealed who she thought was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. It was none other than Danny Masterson from That ’70s Show! She didn’t hold back, describing him as just incredibly rude and even called him a bit of a troublemaker. It was a pretty strong statement, honestly!
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
I remember when Sharon talked about this on Larry King years ago! She said that when Ashton was on The Talk back in 2014, he seemed a little annoyed – she’d accidentally mispronounced his name, and he had a bit of an attitude about it.
She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this business?’ She said she responded with a fierce warning: ‘Don’t mess with me, young man, because I’ll destroy you.’ Essentially, she told him he had no idea who he was up against.

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris clashed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, after Brittany posted a video on Instagram. In the video, posted on August 23rd, Brittany thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition genders during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed being feminine.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Shortly after, Candace Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting JoJo’s feelings when she was eleven and that she was truly sorry for not taking the picture.
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday films, she said it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for her band Hole in a promotional photo without giving proper credit. Olivia responded with a supportive message, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome! My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason he and the Forrest Gump star didn’t get along while filming the 1989 movie Turner & Hooch.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers Lauren’s famous line from the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt. It really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler, alleging she’d made a sex tape with him.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed until April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced for 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson remained part of the cast.
Tyrese recently discussed the disagreement with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on the The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he has spoken with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.
Honestly, I was really caught in the middle, relaying messages from a lot of people involved with the franchise. But I messed up – I was the only one who aired those feelings publicly, and I take full responsibility for that. It wasn’t the right thing to do, and it definitely wasn’t professional.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which supposedly began due to a dispute over a dancer and rivalry during concert tours, ended when Perry sent Swift an actual olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, successfully dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and subsequently made some pointed comments about her co-star.
During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.
She was deeply upset, saying she was “just heartbroken.” They had talked about it all week, and she found it really disturbing because her memory of what happened was completely different.
It’s upsetting, but I believe what truly connects us is the shared experience we had. While it started as a professional collaboration, it became deeply personal over the years. I’m hoping that those years of working on something special and building connections with people will outweigh any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to be a part of something so meaningful for so long.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances, using strong language to suggest she relied too much on lip-syncing. He stated that performers who don’t sing live should face serious consequences, especially considering the cost of concert tickets.

The actress, formerly on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained that she didn’t think the storylines she was given were strong enough to deserve a nomination.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine’s choice in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was a little hurtful, but not entirely unexpected. “When people show you their true colors, you should believe them,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major news story. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what caused the argument with Nicki.
Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.
The conflict really escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had supposedly reacted to a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting, though Nicki claims she didn’t actually engage with it.
Cardi B explained she turned down a potentially hugely profitable Bruno Mars tour because she wanted to be with her daughter. She emphasized how much she loves her daughter and considers herself a great mother. She responded to criticism about a recent incident by saying opportunities to meet other artists don’t come along often, and she wasn’t going to pass up a chance encounter.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.
Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”
The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah was asked about various singers. When asked specifically about Jennifer Lopez, she famously stated, “I don’t know her.”
