Lyrical Games and Plot Twist, the team behind The Last Case of Benedict Fox, have revealed their next project: Erosion. This is an open-world action game with roguelike elements, set in the Wild West. Players can try it out first in Early Access on Xbox Series and PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) in spring 2026. The complete game will then be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC later that year.
I’m so excited about Plot Twist’s new game, Erosion! The CEO, Tomasz Gawlikowski, said they really wanted to create story-focused indie games with gameplay that really grabs you, and it sounds like they’ve nailed it. What’s really cool is that every time your character dies, years pass in the game world. It’s not just about restarting; it actually impacts the story and makes the emotional stakes – like saving your daughter – even higher. I can’t wait to play it and see how it all unfolds!
Blake Rochkind, from Lyrical Games, explained that they’re eager to partner with developers who are aiming high. He said that when they learned about the scope of Plot Twist’s game, Erosion, and its striking visuals and distinctive style, they were immediately impressed and wanted to help bring the game to life.

About
In the game Erosion, players are thrust into a far-off future where a strange, living rock structure called the Pillar is slowly destroying the world. Players venture into the depths of the Pillar, battling through dungeons that can be completely broken apart, all in a desperate attempt to save the protagonist’s daughter from being lost forever. The story changes with every choice you make, and each time a character dies, time runs out faster.
Erosion is a thrilling, fast-paced action game where you explore dangerous, ever-changing dungeons. You’ll fight enemies and powerful bosses, gaining skills and perks to help you survive. Set in a post-apocalyptic Wild West, you can customize vehicles, discover branching storylines that affect the world, and leave your impact on a landscape that can be completely destroyed, block by block.
