Wildlight Entertainment, the team behind popular games like Apex Legends and Titanfall, revealed Highguard, a free-to-play first-person shooter where players compete in raids. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (through Steam) on January 26, 2026, and will support cross-play and cross-progression, letting players play and make progress on any platform.
Dusty Welch, co-founder and CEO of Wildlight Entertainment, announced that the team โ a group of experienced developers who previously worked on popular games like Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Titanfall โ is now creating its own ambitious new game and universe. “We’re aiming for the same level of quality and scope as those previous hits,” Welch stated in a press release.
As a huge fan of both Apex Legends and Titanfall, I was really excited to hear from Chad Grenier, one of the founders of Wildlight Entertainment. He explained that they started the studio because they wanted the freedom to create new games and really focus on design without having to compromise their vision. He said working on those earlier games taught them everything they know about building and keeping a game popular for years to come.

Here is an overview of the game, via Wildlight Entertainment:
The team behind Apex Legends and Titanfall presents Highguard, a new multiplayer raid shooter. Players take on the role of Wardens โ powerful gunslingers who battle for dominance over a legendary continent, engaging in both mounted combat and strategic raids.
Compete against other teams as Wardens, fighting to capture the Shieldbreaker. Once you have it, infiltrate and demolish the enemy base to claim new territory in this innovative shooter game.
