As Sucker Punch Productions brings us back to Japan, many players are asking if Ghost of Yōtei will eventually be released on PC.
The next game after Ghost of Tsushima will only be available on PS5 when it first comes out. So, if you don’t want to miss out (FOMO), you’ll need to purchase a PlayStation.
If you’re considering playing on PC, you might be wondering when it will be available. Here’s an update on the PC release of Ghost of Yōtei, and what you need to know about the wait.
Will Ghost of Yōtei come to PC?
As of right now, the developers haven’t announced if Ghost of Yōtei will be released on PC.
With that in mind, we are very confident that a version of Ghost of Yōtei for PC will be available at some point in the future.
For the last five years, PlayStation has consistently been bringing its exclusive games to PC after their initial release on PlayStation consoles.
Similar to Ghost of Tsushima, popular PlayStation titles such as The Last of Us, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and the Horizon series have also been released on PC following their initial launch on PlayStation consoles.
Therefore, we believe it would be unexpected if PlayStation were to suddenly change course and halt the practice of porting their games, beginning with Yōtei.
When could Ghost of Yōtei come to PC? Release date speculation
Figuring out when Ghost of Yōtei will be available on PC is tricky. PlayStation’s strategy for releasing games on other platforms has changed a lot in the past few years.
Considering Ghost of Tsushima, it took almost four years for the game to be available on PC. It was originally released in July 2020, and the PC version came out in May 2024.
Applied to Yōtei, that would give it a rough release date of August 2029.
However, lately, PlayStation has been working to release its exclusive games on PC more quickly.
God of War Ragnarök, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us 2 Remastered and Stellar Blade have all become available on PC relatively quickly after first appearing on PS5. Specifically, Stellar Blade arrived on PC just 14 months after its PS5 release, and the others followed within less than two years.
As a big PlayStation fan, I think looking at these newer games gives us a much better idea of where Sony’s heading right now. Honestly, I think they’re a more reliable indicator than waiting for a PC release date for Ghost of Tsushima. It’s just that these titles feel more connected to PlayStation’s current plans, so they’re a better way to gauge what’s coming next, you know?
Therefore, we expect Ghost of Yōtei to become available on PC sometime in the first six months of 2027, though it might arrive as early as late 2026.
