Jordan Chiles is focusing on the present.
After the Olympic gymnast lost her bronze medal from the individual floor routine at Paris 2024 due to a scoring dispute, which was then given to Romania’s Ana Barbosu, she revealed her intentions regarding participating in the games of Los Angeles in 2028.
She shared with TopMob News at the ESPY Awards on July 16 that she’s continuing to cherish her time in Paris, as well as the experiences we’ve all shared since then. With one more year left in college, she’ll then decide what comes next.
Certainly! In April, Jordan, who is a senior at UCLA, participated in the NCAA Championships. She won her second uneven bars championship and ended up as the top-ranked competitor overall for the floor exercise during the season.
But, right now, the 24-year-old is embracing life off the mat.
She expressed great joy in a recent interview with fellow Team USA athlete Suni Lee, stating that they find enjoyment in living their lives beyond their sport. They believe there’s more to them than just being athletes, explaining that their minds naturally expand and explore various directions, so she’s been relishing these experiences.
Regarding Suni, who was diagnosed with a potentially career-ending kidney disease in 2023, she has yet to revisit the gym after her departure from Paris, and it remains uncertain whether the LA 2028 event lies ahead for her.
Suni, who is 22 years old, confessed to TopMob that she hasn’t practiced gymnastics since the Olympics. She’s still pondering whether or not she wants to return, but she hasn’t made a decision one way or the other as of now.
As she put, “Right now, I’m just trying to live my life.”

Although there was some debate about her scoring, Jordan views her potential Paris 2024 performance as an opportunity to win a bronze medal. Previously, she told TopMob News, “I will always strive to do my best and be the best version of myself because that’s just who I am.
