You can now watch all eight episodes of Steven Knight’s latest drama, House of Guinness, on Netflix. Viewers are already enjoying the Dublin-set series, which is based on the real story of the Guinness family and their remarkable history.
The show, starring Anthony Boyle and Louis Partridge, tells the story of the Guinness siblings as they navigate life after their father passes away. The season concludes with a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving viewers wondering if a major character has died.
As a total film and TV buff, I’m already wondering what’s next! There are so many story lines hanging, especially with characters like James Norton’s Rafferty, that I’m really hoping we get a second season. Just what are the chances of seeing more of this drama, honestly? I’m really invested and eager to find out! Maybe we’ll get some updates soon!
Read on for everything you need to know about the potential for a House of Guinness season 2.
Will there be a House of Guinness season 2?

Considering the first season concludes with a suspenseful cliffhanger, it’s not surprising that Steven Knight plans to continue telling the story of the Guinness family in a second season.
So far, we haven’t received any official updates about whether the show will continue, and it seems likely that a renewal depends on how many people watched the first season on Netflix.
“You always have an ambition to take it all the way,” he said, “but we will see.”
The writer shared with ScreenRant that, ideally, he’d continue the story all the way through the 1900s. He described this as his perfect scenario.
He explained that these plans haven’t been made public or finalized. However, he pointed out that the Guinness family’s past is full of both challenges and triumphs. They consistently face dramatic situations, make errors, and also achieve great things. He believes this rich history provides plenty of content to sustain the project for a long time.
He also shared with The Irish Sun that he is “not allowed to discuss” the show’s future. However, he expressed his desire to “continue the series,” while clarifying that he’s “not confirming that will actually happen.”
As a big fan, I was thrilled to hear the cast seems keen on coming back! The Mirror reported that Anthony Boyle, who played Arthur, said he’d “love to” reprise his role. It’s really encouraging to know they’re up for it!
He described the scripts as amazing and expressed his enjoyment of both the cast and directors. “I loved it,” he said, “and I’m really proud of the final result. I’d be thrilled to participate again if they decided to continue the show.” He concluded by urging Netflix viewers to watch it.
Talking about the dramatic cliffhanger at the end of the first season, Edward star Louis Partridge admitted he’s eager to find out “who got shot!”. Meanwhile, Boyle playfully told TV Insider: “I know who got shot. [Knight] told me, and I promise you, I’m going to reveal it right now.”
James Norton, who plays Rafferty, and Danielle Galligan, who stars as Olivia, discussed their hopes for their characters’ futures. This came after their characters expressed their love for each other and a strong desire to stay together in the season finale.
Norton expressed enthusiasm about continuing the storyline and exploring the characters’ journeys, stating, “I think Rafferty and Olivia are resilient individuals.” He added, “Throughout their lives, they’ve generally achieved their goals, but now they’re confronting a truly challenging and paradoxical situation.”
The brothers are really coming into their own and gaining more power. Arthur has explicitly stated that continuing this relationship will mean losing everything. However, despite this, Rafferty insists he despises them, declaring, “We will be together. One day, we will be together.”
Galligan explained: “For Olivia, opportunities to pursue her goals are limited. She greatly values safety and security.”
Ultimately, when everything is uncertain, the question becomes: will she choose love, or the stability and comfortable life she’s created? The answer isn’t given. She seems to want both possibilities, to enjoy all sides of the situation. We’ll have to wait and see if, like Icarus, she pushes her luck too far.
When would a potential House of Guinness season 2 be released?

It’s currently uncertain when House of Guinness will be back for season 2, as it hasn’t been officially renewed yet. Still, there’s a good chance we won’t have to wait too long for new episodes. Hopefully we’ll have an update soon.
The show’s first season was announced in March 2024, and filming began that summer. It premiered on Netflix a little over a year after the initial announcement.
If season 2 follows a similar fast production timeline, we might see it released around late 2026-but it’s important to remember that this is just our guess at this point.
We’ll continue to update this page with any new information about the show’s future and when you can expect a possible season 2. We will share updates as soon as we receive them.

As a viewer, I’m still reeling from the finale! It ended with such a tense moment – Seamus O’Hara’s Patrick actually fired a shot, and it was aimed right at Arthur. Of course, we didn’t get to see what happened next, so I’m left wondering who, if anyone, was hit, and whether the injury was serious. It’s a total cliffhanger, and I’m desperate to know the outcome!

Is there a trailer for House of Guinness season 2?
I’m really excited about House of Guinness, but unfortunately, there’s no news on a season 2 renewal yet, and filming hasn’t even begun. Because of that, there isn’t a trailer available right now, and honestly, I don’t anticipate one surfacing for quite a while. It’s a waiting game, but I’m hoping we’ll get some updates soon!
