Jeremy Renner returned for another thrilling season of the Paramount Plus drama, and the fourth season delivered plenty of action and surprising turns.
Nishi Munshi, who played Tracy McLusky, wasn’t surprised when her character was killed off in one of the season’s last episodes. She told TV Insider that she had a feeling it was coming, given Tracy’s complicated life. Munshi explained that Tracy was always stretched thin, trying to balance everything. When she considered what her character would do, she thought about what was best for her child, but also felt a strong need to support her husband.

Currently, Paramount Plus hasn’t announced whether “Mayor of Kingstown” will return for a fifth season. However, with season four finished, an official decision is likely to be announced soon.
Hugh Dillon, one of the show’s creators, shared with ScreenRant that Taylor Sheridan, his co-creator, intends to continue ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ for multiple future seasons.
He explained that when they initially planned the series, this particular person had a very clear vision for how it would all conclude. He personally enjoys strong beginnings, especially impactful ones. He’s already outlined an ending for season 7 – whether the show actually makes it that far is uncertain, but the general outline of the finale is known to everyone involved.
He’ll explain everything thoroughly if you speak with him. We’re aiming to reach season 7, as that’s the furthest point we can go – it’s where he’s consistently kept the information.
When could a potential Mayor of Kingstown season 5 be released?
Since Mayor of Kingstown has consistently released new seasons annually starting in 2021, we anticipate that Season 5, if approved, could arrive in late 2026.

Season four welcomed new cast members Edie Falco, Lennie James, Laura Benanti, and Niko Nicotera. However, Tracy McLusky, played by Nishi Munshi, was killed off during the season, so she won’t be returning in future seasons.
